Primary Care

Dr. Nupur Agrawal is a Clinical Instructor of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at UCLA and practices primary care at the UCLA Medicine-Pediatrics Comprehensive Care Clinic in Santa Monica, California where she provides personalized, compassionate, and comprehensive care to patients of all ages. 

Dr. Emery H. Chang is an Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine & Pediatrics who has had a long interest in HIV Primary care, the care of the LGBTQ+ community and the education of medical students and residents. At the University of Minnesota Medical School he participated in clinical electives focused on Sexuality & HIV care. Further, he was a committee member of the Medical School's Committee on Cultural Competency focused on curricular reform.

Dr. Clagg is a UCLA primary care physician practicing in Burbank since 2020. He is double board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, treating both adults and children. Dr. Clagg received his medical degree from Marshall University. He completed residency training in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Marshall. In addition to providing primary care to all ages, he enjoys serving the LGBTQ+ community by providing gender-affirming hormone treatment for his adult patients.

Dr. Allison Diamant is a trained Internal Medicine physician, educator and health services researcher. She has a particular clinical interest in caring for adult LGBTQ+ individuals, including the provision of preventive care as well as evaluation and treatment for acute and chronic medical conditions. She developed the modules for 1st year medical students around taking a sexual history and an overview of LGBTQ+ health issues.

Dr. Danny Flautero (he/him/his) is the LGBTQ+ Healthcare Fellow for 2023-2024. His clinical interests include LGBTQ+ primary care, HIV care, gender affirming care, and colorectal cancer screening. He completed his medical degree at Georgetown University and completed his residency training in Family Medicine at Georgetown MedStar in Washington, DC.

Dr. Russell A. Johnson is a Clinical Instructor of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at UCLA. He joined the UCLA faculty in 2018 and splits his time between the Santa Monica Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Comprehensive Care Center, the UCLA CARE Clinic, UCLA Health for Bruins, and the Venice Family Clinic. 

Dr. Kao is a primary care physician who practices in downtown LA. His clinical interests include primary care for all ages, HIV management and prevention, and LGBTQ+ health. After residency, he completed the HIV Clinical Leadership Program at LAC+USC, where he worked with patients living with HIV through the county health clinic, CRDF jail clinic, street medicine team, and APLA. He also received training in maintenance gender affirming hormone therapy at CHLA and LAC+USC.

Dr. Bernard J. Katz is an Assistant Professor in Family Medicine who has an interest in and provides care to LGBTQ+ patients and allies. In practice in Pacific Palisades for over 25 years, he provides primary care services, PEP/PrEP services, and STI treatment and prevention. Dr. Katz has been actively involved in the development of gender sensitive terminology and tools for use with the electronic health record at UCLA. Dr. Katz also has an interest in geriatric medicine.

Dr. Khalili (he/him) is an internal medicine physician who practices traditional primary care, complex medical care for the UCLA Health Extensivist Program in Santa Monica, and HIV care at the UCLA CARE Center. He is an ambulatory HIV specialist and has had an interest in LGBTQ+ care since starting his career at UCLA. He has been involved in health services and clinical research related to LGBTQ+ health care, HIV primary care and HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).

Dr. Maliha Khan (she/her/hers) is the LGBTQ+ Healthcare Fellow for 2022-2023. Her clinical interests include LGBTQ+ primary care, HIV care, adolescent medicine, gender affirming care, and behavioral health. She complete her medical degree at Texas Tech University and completed her residency training in family medicine at Kaiser Permanente in Woodland Hills, CA.

Dr. Pauline Nguyen (she/her) is a board certified family medicine physician committed to providing compassionate care to patients of all ages. Her clinical interests include LGBTQ+ health, maintaining gender affirming hormone therapy, HIV prevention via PReP/PEP, and IUD and nexplanon insertions. During her residency training, she founded the UCLA Family Medicine LGBTQ+ Health track. She is also the current implementation champion of the Midwest Integration of the National HIV Curriculum grant.

Dr. Gifty-Maria Ntim is Assistant Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at UCLA and practices in Santa Clarita. Prior to joining UCLA, she worked as medical director of APLA Health & Wellness (APLA HW) from 2014 to 2016. APLA HW is the medical services branch of AIDS Project Los Angeles. 

Dr. Poulos is a primary care physician at UCLA Health. She completed her undergraduate degree in Economics and Art History at Duke University and earned her medical degree from UCSF School of Medicine. She completed Family Medicine residency at UCLA and then joined on as faculty. Dr. Poulos’s clinical interests include adult and pediatric primary care, preventive medicine, and LGBTQ+ health, including primary care for transgender and gender-diverse patients.

Dr. Janet Pregler is board certified in Internal Medicine. She practices at the Iris Cantor-UCLA Women's Health Center, which she has directed since 1997. She has provided primary care for LGBTQ+ patients for 30 years. 

Dr. Daniel Puneky is a Clinical Instructor in the UCLA Department of Medicine, and an adult primary care physician in Beverly Hills. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and certified as an HIV Specialist by the American Academy of HIV Medicine. His clinical interests include care of members of the LGBTQ+ community, HIV primary care and prevention including PrEP and PEP, as well as preventative medicine.

Dr. Rada (they/them) is a queer, non-binary primary care physician who practices in Beverly Hills. They are a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Medicine and were the 2021-2022 UCLA LGBT+ Fellow. Their clinical interests include caring for transgender and gender diverse patients, including hormone initiation/management, LGBTQ+ primary care, PrEP, and STI management. They see youth, adolescents, and adults for their Gender Health needs.

Dr. Noah Ravenborg is passionate about patient-centered care and strives to integrate the values and priorities of patients with high-quality, evidenced-based medical care. Dr. Ravenborg grew up in the LA area and obtained his MD from George Washington University in Washington, DC. He then completed Internal Medicine residency at UCLA. Outside of medicine, he enjoys cooking, gardening, and running.

Dr. Richardson has experience initiating and managing gender-affirming hormone therapy for transgender and gender-diverse patients. She also has experience working with other members of the LGBTQ+ community with clinical interests in PrEP/PEP and primary care of the HIV patient. She is currently an assistant clinical professor in the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.

Dr. Amy Weimer is Associate Professor of Medicine – Pediatrics at UCLA. She completed her dual residency in internal medicine and pediatrics at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in 2003. She served as chief resident in internal medicine, then spent several years practicing general primary care before joining UCLA faculty in 2013. She became deeply interested in health care for transgender and gender-diverse patients during this time, and founded the UCLA Gender Health Program in 2016.

Dr. Stacey Weinstein is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at UCLA. She did her undergraduate and medical school training at Brown University, and then completed a combined residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at UCLA in 2014. 

Dr. George Yen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and an AAHIVM HIV Specialist. His interest is in HIV primary care and care for the LGBTQ+ community. He completed his internship and residency at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. He is the program director for the LGBTQ+ Fellowship Program, the first ever training program that equips primary care physicians with the expertise in providing comprehensive care to all sexual and gender minority patient populations.

Dr. Young is an internal medicine physician who practices general primary care as well as complex medical care for the UCLA Health Extensivist Program in Westwood and Santa Monica. He also provides HIV primary care and HIV prevention at the UCLA CARE Center. Dr. Young is board certified in Internal Medicine and is certified as an HIV Specialist through the American Academy of HIV. He uses evidence based medicine to provide individualized care for his patients.
