About
Dr. Johnathan Kao is a primary care physician who practices in downtown LA. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and his clinical interests include primary care for all ages, preventative care, HIV management and prevention, and LGBTQ+ health.
Dr. Kao received his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine where he also completed a certificate in Leadership in Medicine for the Underserved. He completed his residency training in internal medicine and pediatrics at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center. He then went on to do additional training through the HIV Clinical Leadership Program at LAC+USC where he provided care for patients living with HIV through the county health clinics, jail system, and street medicine teams.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Kao enjoys trying new restaurants, traveling, and exploring local bookstores.
