About
Dr. Kimberly Richardson grew up in Kansas City and received her undergraduate degree from Baker University. She went on to receive her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine, then completed her internal medicine residency and chief residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
Dr. Richardson is a primary care internist practicing in Torrance. She specializes in the care of adults with an emphasis on chronic disease management including diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and other chronic medical conditions. She understands the importance of patient-physician communication and aims to create a space where patients and their family members feel comfortable.
Dr. Richardson is a designated UCLA Health LGBTQ+ Champion with advanced training in the care of adult patients in the LGBTQ+ community. She has experience in gender health with clinical interests in PrEP/PEP and primary care of the HIV patient. She is currently an assistant clinical professor in the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, movies and the beach.

While my provider was very amenable to my requests, I did not feel she had much to offer in terms of insights or suggestions and it felt like she was just proceeding with my requests. She asked no follow up questions. I didn't feel like she was hearing my concerns properly.

Dr. Richardson has the most impeccable care and concern about me as a patient. She wanted to hear all of my concerns; she was careful to take a cautious approach to addressing areas where we have not ventured before. For instance with regard to my airing back rather than to pursue further medical intervention, she suggested that I try a topical medicine first if that does not prove beneficial we will go to the next step. I appreciate that approach! She was concerned about every aspect of my well-being from mental to physical and social. I felt like she has a holistic approach to wellness that came across. She was courteous, respectful, and very engaging.

The front office staff were extremely courteous, professional, and welcoming. I was taken to the examination room within 10 minutes of my arrival. The nurse was thorough. Dr. Kimberly Richardson doctor was personable, friendly, and professional, the perfect balance of warmth and expertise. She has such a reassuring presence and a great smile that immediately put me at ease. She’s extremely knowledgeable and took the time to really listen and explain everything clearly. I felt genuinely cared for and respected throughout the entire visit. I absolutely love her approach and how she carries herself. I left the appointment feeling confident and grateful to have her as my doctor!

Doctor Richardson was amazing. Really appreciated the care and concern showed when catching them up on my previous visits. This is my 3rd physical at UCLA and have switched Drs every time. As a person of color, I immediately felt comfortable, seen, taken seriously, and understood from Dr Richardson. We were able to speak candidly and I learned a lot more about my issues than prior visits. It’s really good to see Dr’s with high cultural competency at UCLA health and Dr Robinson is excellent in that regard.

Kimberly Jaynette Richardson, MD. is my favorite doctor. I've been in many doctor's offices in my 60 years (my own, my spouse's, children's, parents', siblings, friends', etc). There is no finer physician than Dr. Richardson. She cares, listens, sees the big picture, notices the small details, takes time to investigate and respond, treats me like an individual, and goes above and beyond because her empathy and integrity are THE REAL THING.
