Dr. Michael W. Yeh established the UCLA Endocrine Surgery Program in 2006. Under his leadership, the Program has gained national and international recognition for clinical excellence in the management of complex endocrine diseases.

Dr. Harari has received many academic honors at all levels of her education and has a growing bibliography. Dr. Harari’s clinical and research interests include the multidisciplinary management of benign and malignant tumors of the adrenal, thyroid, and parathyroid glands as well as the neuroendocrine pancreas.

Dr. Livhits completed her general surgery training and endocrine surgery fellowship at UCLA. She is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the American College of Surgeons. Her clinical and research interests include parathyroid disease, benign and malignant thyroid tumors, adrenal masses, and familial endocrine disorders.

Dr. James Wu is a board-certified Endocrine Surgeon and Assistant Professor of Surgery at UCLA. After completing general surgery residency at UCLA, he pursued advanced training in Complex Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Wu is devoted to caring for patients with thyroid cancer, from active surveillance of low-risk tumors to aggressive surgery.

Dr. Kyle Zanocco is a board-certified, fellowship-trained endocrine surgeon. An accomplished surgical outcomes researcher, Dr. Zanocco has published and lectured extensively on developing optimal strategies for the treatment of thyroid cancer and hyperparathyroidism.

Dr. Arasu earned her medical degree and completed her Internal Medicine residency at UCLA. She went on to do her endocrinology fellowship at UCSF. During that time, she spent extensive time doing research in osteoporosis with world-renowned experts in the field.

Dr. Cheung practices general endocrinology, including diabetes and thyroid disease. Her primary area of interest is thyroid cancer, and she performs ultrasounds and ultrasound-guided fine needle aspirations of thyroid nodules in the clinic on a daily basis to evaluate thyroid nodules for malignancy.

Dr. Amy Chow earned her medical degree and completed her Internal Medicine residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. She remained at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School to complete her fellowship in Endocrinology. Dr. Chow is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and is board certified in Endocrinology, Metabolism and Nutrition.

Dr. Pouyan Famini grew up in the San Fernando Valley and earned his Bachelor's of Science in Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He then went on to the Albany Medical College in New York for his Medical Degree and returned to Los Angeles to complete residency training in Internal Medicine and specialty training in Endocrinology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and West Los Angeles VA Medical Center.

Dr. Gofnung is well versed in the many aspects of hormone-related problems, such as Diabetes and Thyroid conditions. To help address the rapid rise in the incidence of Diabetes, Dr. Gofnung has particular expertise in the complex care that is required by optimizing tailored treatment methods for each individual patient. Dr. Gofnung has kept abreast of the latest strategies for Thyroid disorders, with particular interest in Thyroid cancer treatment.

Dr. Gupta is an Endocrinologist who practices in Westlake Village. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. She has a special interest in providing multi-disciplinary care for thyroid cancer, diabetes, metabolic bone disease and obesity and is a strong advocate for coordinating care and educating patients dealing with complicated Endocrine disorders.

In addition to treating general endocrinology, Dr. Han has a special interest in diabetes, prediabetes, obesity and endocrine disorders during pregnancy.

Dr. Lechner has clinical and research interests in the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid diseases and thyroid cancer and endocrine disease resulting from cancer therapy (onco-endocrinology). Dr. Lechner leads multiple prospective clinical trials at UCLA studying thyroid disease and cancer immunotherapy and publishes widely. She has received funding from the American Thyroid Association and Endocrine Fellows Foundation for her research.

Dr. Leung has particular clinical and research interests in thyroid disorders, and she also sees patients regarding parathyroid and adrenal disorders.  She has published widely and lectures frequently on thyroid disease, including hyperthyroidism, hypothyroidism, thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, and thyroid disease during pregnancy.

Dr. Shen grew up in Columbus, Ohio and earned her Bachelor's degree in Biology at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. She then spent a year as a post-baccalaureate research fellow at the NIH in Bethesda, Maryland before attending the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. Dr. Shen eventually made her way to California and completed her internal medicine residency at Cedars Sinai Medical Center.

Dr. Smooke Praw has clinical and research interests in thyroid disorders (including over and underactive thyroid conditions and thyroid nodules) and thyroid cancer. She also sees patients with parathyroid disease and PCOS, among other endocrine disorders. She lectures frequently on thyroid disease and has published in the field of thyroid cancer.
