Dr. Stephanie Smooke Praw is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, Clinical Chief of Endocrinology, Director of the UCLA Thyroid Center, Director of Education for the Division of Endocrinology, clinical endocrinologist, and former Fellowship Program Director. Her clinical and research interests are related to thyroid disease (including over- and underactive thyroid conditions and thyroid nodules) and thyroid cancer. She lectures frequently on these topics and has published in the field of thyroid disease and thyroid cancer.

After pursuing undergraduate studies at Yale University and a masters degree at the University of London, Dr. Smooke Praw completed medical school at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine followed by internal medicine training at UCLA Hospital. Following residency, she served as Chief Resident for the Department of Internal Medicine before completing endocrine fellowship at UCLA. Dr. Smooke Praw joined the UCLA faculty in 2009. Dr. Smooke Praw sees patients in the UCLA Endocrine Center as well as in the UCLA Gonda Endocrine Center.

Dr Smooke is fantastic. She always is caring, thorough and shares information in a very understandable way. She took me late, which cut her lunch break short. I very much appreciate it. The front desk staff were also helpful with my late arrival, understanding the stress I was under given that my garage was blocked off.
