Our Board

Co-President

Simran Ovalekar is a third-year UCLA student and President of Bruin Beans Health Club. She is passionate about kidney health education, leading outreach events, seminars, and advocacy efforts. With experience in nephrology research and community service, Simran aims to raise awareness and promote wellness across campus.

Co-President

Rain Wong is a fourth-year UCLA student and President of Bruin Beans Health Club. Rain aims to diversify efforts to increase patient outreach, education, and healthcare advocacy. Additionally, Rain seeks to pioneer translational research surrounding kidney disease, wanting to bridge the gap between scientific discovery and real-world application.

Digital Director 

Ashley Kuo is a third-year UCLA student and the Digital Director of the Bruin Beans Health Club. She dedicates her efforts towards promoting BBHC’s mission as well as advocate for kidney health awareness through informational social media content. Through the digital platform, she strives to keep individuals connected and engaged in their own healthcare journeys, regardless of whether they are patients, providers, donors, recipients, or passionate students.

Outreach Director 

Alisha Chowdhary is a second-year neuroscience major and Outreach Director for Bruin Beans Health Club. She leads efforts in kidney health advocacy and inclusive health education, using digital outreach with her reels project to spread awareness. She’s passionate about addressing healthcare inequities, especially for queer and underserved communities.

Research Director 

Ariv Tandon is a third-year UCLA student and the current Research Director of the Bruin Beans Health Club. He oversees all research related initiatives and clinical trial involvement within the club. He is motivated by the many educational enrichment opportunities, from improving as a leader to becoming more knowledgable of kidney disease. He hopes to bring learning opportunities to the public and become more involved in understanding the true potential of treatments.

Patient Experience Director 

Siddhant Watwani is a fourth-year UCLA student and serves as the Patient Experiences Director for the Bruin Beans Health Club. He is committed to educating patients to be their own best advocates and enhancing the physician-patient relationship by making it more efficient, empathetic, and impactful. Through translational research and clinical trials, he aims to bridge the gap between bench and bedside to deliver more personalized, data-driven care.
