The BirthPlace Education Program

The BirthPlace offers a comprehensive education program to help improve your birthing experience and ease your transition to parenthood.

UCLA Health is committed to equitable care and helping you to reach your best health.

We want your birth to be a safe and empowering experience.

We will…

  • Treat you with dignity and respect at all times.
  • Work with you to learn how we can best support you.
  • Give you clear information, using an interpreter if you would like one, so you understand your options and can make the choice that is right for you.
  • Respect your values and personal boundaries.
  • Respect your culture, race, gender, sexual orientation, functional needs, preferences, nationality, language and religion.
  • Welcome and actively involve those you wish to include, such as family, friends and doula, as part of your team.
  • Have trained chaperones to help make sure sensitive exams and procedures are done in a safe, comfortable and professional way.

We invite you to let us know if we fail to meet these commitments.

Our skilled and caring team is committed to helping you have the best possible birth experience. UCLA Health offers obstetric care through a fully integrated BirthPlace program. Our locations include Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center, both of which feature state-of-the-art, family-centered birthing and neonatal care programs. The BirthPlace at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center offers our integrated OBGYN/Midwifery program.

We also offer the most advanced, specialized obstetric and pediatric care. You will have access to world-class neonatologists (newborn-infant specialists), surgeons, anesthesiologists, medical intensivists (critical-care doctors) and support staff. UCLA Health has Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Units, which is the highest level that can be held.

Thank you again for choosing UCLA Health for your care. We are honored to serve you during this important time in your family’s life!
