Prenatal Classes

The weeks and months before your baby is born are a great time to learn about childbirth, breastfeeding, and how to care for a newborn. Knowing what to expect during labor, how to start breastfeeding, and how to take care of your baby can really help during the early days.

The BirthPlace has a full program to teach you what you need to know. It can help make giving birth easier and help you get ready to be a parent. 

Virtual Group Classes 

In partnership with BabyLiveAdvice, taught live online.

Free for UCLA patients.

In Person Classes 

Live in classroom setting at UCLA Santa Monica hospital, available for UCLA patients.

Please note: There is a cost to attend in-person classes.

  • Infant CPR & First Aid ($150.00/pair)

     

Registration and Payment

Click 'Sign up' to register and complete payment online. Your spot is only confirmed after payment is processed (confirmation email with receipt received).

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations are permitted up to 48 hours before the scheduled class and are eligible for a full refund. 

  • No refunds will be issued for missed classes, except in cases of delivery or verified medical emergencies through MyChart to process the refund. Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for refund processing.

Class Rescheduling Policy

  • $35 fee for classes rescheduled within two (2) weeks of the original class start date.
  • $40 fee for classes rescheduled within one (1) week of the original class start date.

If your preferred class is full, you may request to be added to the waitlist.
