I have to get my blood drawn frequently, and it's always been at least a little painful. However, Nelson drew my blood in such a smooth and professional way I didn't even realize he put the needle in. He's the best when it comes to blood drawing, and he was really nice and funny too. Casey does fantastic working in Dr. Ginger Slack's office to help connect people to gender-affirming care. I really felt like she went out of her way to expedite things and work with me through having an insurance deadline and being located out of state to schedule my consult and surgery.

Throughout the entire process of working with her, I was struck by her kindness and willingness to genuinely help me as a patient. I can't say I have had any other experiences with the healthcare world as humanizing and understanding and helpful as this one. When you read about people's reviews of Dr. Slack online, you see people speak so positively about her care team. I now know that Casey is the reason for that.

I want to recognize Rachel Valencia for her exceptional care and patience while administering a flu shot for our daughter. Despite our daughter being extremely upset, Rachel went out of her way to create a calm and reassuring experience. She explained every step of the process, asked for consent, and waited until our daughter felt ready. Rachel even showed her the different tools, let her touch the alcohol pads, and engaged her in a way that had her laughing and smiling by the end. Her kindness and professionalism made a tough situation so much better. Thank you, Rachel!

Tamala is amazing ! She not only knows her stuff when it comes time get funding for my CLL med but she is also so very caring and supportive. It was time to get my CLL med renewed for 2025 so I reached out to see if there were any grands. Tamala found one and helped in getting approval very quickly ! She is so passionate about her work. If I had gone strait through to get the grant myself it would take a tremendous amount of time and a possible rejection. Tamala is truly on her game. She responds quickly and got me the approval extremely rapidly. I could not afford the $18,000 a month med. without the grant. Tamala is a true saint and UCLA is very fortunate to have her on your team. I have friends out of state who don't have a Tamala to turn to and they have to pay the full price for the meds or use up countless hours for getting a grant. I feel truly blessed to know that I can turn to Tamala who is the poster child for getting this done !

I am so thankful and appreciative of Julian going above and beyond to assist me with patient care. Understanding that the ED is extremely busy in addition to the natural disasters ongoing, Julian went out of his way to ensure CICARE was displayed during my shift with him.
