Message from Interim Department Chair, Christina Han, MD
As I settle into my role as Interim Department Chair and Executive Medical Director, I want to acknowledge and thank Dr. Deborah Krakow for her successful tenure as Chair. Over the past eight years, she shepherded our department to national prominence, wide-spread recognition for our high-quality care, innovative research, substantial faculty growth, and a commitment to training future generations of OBGYN providers and physician-scientists. Her positive imprint on our department will be ever-lasting.
Over the past few months, I have had the opportunity to meet both one-on-one and in groups with many of our faculty, staff, and clinical programs to hear about our department members’ priorities for further progress during this time of transition for our department. I want to thank everyone who has taken time to meet with me for their honest feedback and innovative ideas. I will be using this feedback to help shape changes that are sustainable and beneficial for the department, our patients, our trainees and our community.
Over the coming months, we will not just “hold the line,” but will continue to make meaningful and innovative progress across clinical care, education, research, inclusive excellence and community engagement. I believe in and have already witnessed first-hand the strength of our dedicated and skilled team and look forward to working together as we push our mission forward.
