Kidney Women Health Program

Women’s health and kidney disease cross paths in several important and meaningful ways. Women face unique challenges with hormonal, reproductive, and social factors which can impact the onset, progression, and management of kidney disease and hypertension. Kidney disease and hypertension can affect menstrual cycles, fertility and pregnancy outcome in women. The multidisciplinary care model among experts from nephrology, maternal-fetal medicine, endocrinology and cardiology is pivotal to improve outcome.
