UCLA Nephrology Committee for Improving Kidney Health and Community Outreach (UCLA-CIKHCO)
UCLA Nephrology Committee for Improving Kidney Health and Community Outreach
About UCLA-CIKHCO: The UCLA committee for improving kidney health and outreach was created to identify factors that affect clinical care delivery and to develop practical solutions to enhance health care and clinical outcomes for kidney patients.
In the United States, more than 35 million adults have some form of chronic kidney disease, which significantly affects many underserved individuals. These challenges became more apparent during the COVID-19 pandemic, which also worsened existing issues in health care access and outcomes, especially for people with kidney diseases.
Mission: To improve community outreach, promote education, and provide strategies to enhance kidney health for all.
Vision: To comprehensively address systemic challenges and obstacles to the delivery of care to kidney patients, by providing education, and awareness on relevant topics.
