Care Compliments

Oscar H.

I want to thank Dr. O. Joe Hines, Ingrida Klausa and all of his team for the wonderful care my son received while a patient at UCLA Medical Center. Not only was his surgery performed flawlessly without complications but the entire team kept me informed during and after surgery and checked on him several times during his stay. Dr. Hines took the time to come to Maddie's room to speak with me after surgery and saw my son the following day on the unit. We never felt rushed to be discharged, as a matter of fact everyone was encouraging us to stay if we weren't comfortable going home. I have been an RN for over 35 years and believe me when I tell you this was incredible care and I'm so thankful my boy was in such great hands.

Sepehr T.

Dr. Sepehr Tehrani and his team cared for my son during his surgery on March 7th. He was informative and thorough and made me (mom and nurse) feel like my child was in great hands. He explained everything to my son and checked in on him after surgery. Thank you so much for spending time and caring for us like we were your only patients though I'm sure you had many surgeries that day. You and your team took such good care of my boy and I am forever grateful.

Maddie's R.

The staff, including volunteers, in Maddie's room is so patient and accommodating. While waiting for my mom, I must have said to myself 5-6 times, wow these guys have the patience of saints, And they do! They are also very organized and discreet, and just wonderfully kind. Our entire experience today has been top notch. Thank you.

Jason L.

I would like to share my experiences with one of the UCLA physicians at the Toluca Lake UCLA medical offices. His name is Dr. Jason Lee. He has been my primary doctor for several years now and I can honestly say he is just OUTSTANDING. He always goes above and beyond in his care, answering my questions in layman's terms and always making sure I understand any treatments or diagnosis. His professionalism, kindness and overall patient experience is not something you find everyday. I am so thankful that you have him as part of your UCLA family and I wanted to express my gratitude and appreciation. Often doctors may only hear the "bad" experiences and I wanted to make sure his management heard what makes you different than other providers, and that is having doctors like Dr. JASON LEE!

Charles Y. T.

I am so grateful to Dr. Charles Tseng and his team for the excellent care, compassion and expert skill demonstrated during my mastectomy and DIEP flap reconstruction. Dr. Tseng is an artist. I really feel like myself after my mastectomies. I don't feel like I had to lose my breasts. The shape, size and feel of my breasts is remarkable similar to before my mastectomies.

Kirsten A.

Kirsten Anthony is a Physical Therapist. She was super attentive to my needs during my recovery from a painful surgery. When I started therapy, I needed to learn to walk correctly using a cane. I also needed to stretch and strengthen my body without causing pain. Kirsten used many modalities, and did nothing that would hurt me. She closely monitored my progress from week to week and stepped up my exercises accordingly.

Kirsten was patient and watched me like an eagle as I learned new exercises. She gave me corrections as needed which helped a lot. Her encouragement and support helped me progress to now being able to walk more than two miles without pain. I'm very grateful to Kirsten and to UCLA for hiring such a highly qualified therapist. She is an excellent care-giver as well as an expert representative of UCLA's high ranking in medical care. And she also happens to be a very nice person.

Karina N.

This nurse made ALL the difference in the world to us. She was an advocate for the patient and calming essence throughout the process. It wasn't just kindness and compassion that did the trick, she listened, assessed and intervened. My husband shared with me how a simple suggestion of how to reach the perfect body position allowed him to relax and receive spinal anesthesia successfully. She accomplished so much throughout in a calming, compassionate, and highly skilled fashion. We thank her so much.

Dr. Rahman was part of the team for my recent surgical procedure. I live with type 1 diabetes and wear an insulin pump. I was impressed with the care and concern that he took with his assessment prior to my procedure. Because of diabetes and its long duration he had to take extra steps to ensure that I remain safe. He also allowed me to keep my hybrid insulin pump on during the procedure. I was impressed and awestruck that he allowed me to keep it on rather than remove it. As a result, my glucose levels remained very stable during and after the procedure. This was a matter that I was worried about and lost some sleep over the night before the scheduled procedure. I appreciate Dr. Rahman's care, compassion, and above all his skill set to ensure that I remain safe during surgery. I never got the chance to thank him and those that worked under Dr. Rahman's direction. Thank You Dr. Rhaman!

Chris G.

Hello, Unfortunately I recently had to visit the emergency department in horrible pain. All the staff I met were great. But I feel I need to give Chris an extra compliment. I feel Chris understood I was in immense pain and he made a lot of effort to help seek the medical attention I needed (sooner than later). He made me feel better. As you can imagine I was there for a while. I also watched him clean up the waiting room of debris, re-organize the wheel chairs and over all spoke to all the patience with CARE. Thank you Chris.

Weber C.

Casey Weber is an outstanding member of UCLA Health. Casey called me when there was an opening to schedule my surgical procedure after another patient canceled. Somehow she was able to help me get everything that needed to be done prior to the procedure in only 3 weeks which is not a lot of time to prepare. She sent me the required paperwork right now, scheduled my initial return visits, and even responded to my urgent request in helping process my required paperwork in order to return to work within minutes. Casey went above and beyond the call of duty to make this happen and is a great team player. She is an asset to her Department and I just wanted to thank her and let her know along with her supervising administrators that she is a true asset to her team! Thank You Casey!

Dear Dr. Jackanich,

You treated me on January 25th in the ER for symptoms related to my IUD. I wanted to reach out and thank you again so very much for the care that you took with me. Not only did you speak to me with such empathy and care, but you put my needs well above any other consideration. It could have been another horrible experience for me, but because of your care, I left the ER healed, happy and healthy.

Looking back, I know that it would have been physically possible for you to retrieve my IUD if I had allowed you to try. But you gave me a choice that saved me so much trauma and physical pain, I attribute the happiness I feel today exclusively to your decision making skills. Your ability to factor in my past experiences and mental state along with the value that you placed on my well being, truly gave me the highest quality medical care that I have ever received.

You may not have been the doctor that grabbed the IUD but you certainly are the reason I was able to allow a pelvic exam and relax enough to have it removed. If you had not been my doctor that day, I would not have had been able to have it removed.

When I came into the ER I was afraid, in pain and traumatized but you were my advocate. I felt like that I was in safe hands. Eventually, I did feel comfortable enough to allow the ob that you called to give me a quick pelvic exam and my IUD was right there and she easily grabbed it. I had no pain, no fear, and no anxiety. And that is exclusively because of how you handled my case.

I can't thank you enough for the care you gave me. You saved me so much unnecessary trauma, pain and anxiety. Because of you, I had the IUD removed, have no long term side effects and did not have to be put under any medication for pain or anxiety. You treated my anxiety and as a result I experience no pain and have no scarring. I am so grateful that you treated me.

I just wanted to express my gratitude. I am sure you get positive feedback all the time but add mine to the pile.
