Prepare for Orthopedic Surgery
You deserve a positive surgery experience and successful recovery. One way to help achieve this goal is to arrive prepared. Please follow your surgeon’s instructions before surgery, which may include:
- Avoid food after midnight on the day of surgery.
- Bring necessary medical equipment, such as a CPAP machine.
- Bring your advance health care directive, if applicable.
- Complete medical history forms.
- Drink only small sips of water or electrolyte beverage up until two hours before arrival.
Your care team will instruct you to take our preoperative class before surgery. If you’ve already finished the class, complete the preoperative class survey here.
