Let's Talk - About Past Events
The UCLA Women’s Cardiovascular Center first launched Let's Talk; Women's Heart Health, on October 14, 2017.
Our center's expert physicians and staff presented a day packed with information centered around Heart Health & Mindful Living. Discussions included overall heart health, preventative measures, stress reduction, mindful living and more. Guests were treated to a unique panel presentation by our doctors, followed by a Q&A period with the audience. Since 2017 The UCLA Women's Cardiovascular Center continues to present 'Let's Talk Women's Heart Health' educational programs, with a contemporary theme, updated information and research.
Last year's event
On Saturday March 16, 2024, the UCLA Women's Cardiovascular Center presented another successful Let's Talk; Women's Heart Health program to over 300 guests at UCLA's California NanoSystems Institute. The theme 'A Healthy Heart is Key to Thriving at All Ages' included a presentation by leading women cardiologists sharing information about the latest research and innovative therapuetics aimed at improving women's health. The panelists included Karol Watson, M.D., Ph.D., Marcella Calfon Press, M.D., Ph.D. Tamara Horwich, M.D., M.S., Anne Saltzman, Psy.D., Janki Shah, M.D., Lua Jafari M.D., Rajita Patil M.D., Jonathan Tobias M.D., Shipra Hingorany M.D., and guest speakers. Attendees also enjoyed heart healthy snacks during a reception hour that included educational information, table displays, soothing jazz music, and additional UCLA associates and resources.

2023 Lets Talk Heart, Body & Soul
On Saturday, February 4, 2023. The Center's annual Let's Talk; Women's Heart Health program was held in celebration of American Heart Month, at the UCLA Meyer and Renee Luskin Conference Center. The Women’s Cardiovascular Center directors and physicians presenters included: Karol Watson, M.D., Ph.D. Marcella Calfon Press, M.D., Ph.D. Tamara Horwich, M.D., M.S., Anjani Mattai, M.D. Anne Saltzman, Psy.D. Janki Shah, M.D. and Vijaya Surampudi, M.D. The physicians were joined by special guests including Marin Hinkle who hosted the event.

2022 Lets Talk Women's Heart Health
On February 01, 2022, the Center held our first virtual Lets Talk Women's Heart Health event, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Our panel of expert physicians engaged a large audience presenting topics including the latest innovations and therapeutics aimed at improving heart health through stress reduction and lifestyle changes. Our pioneering research on the heart-mind connection at the UCLA Women's Cardiovascular Center continues to show great promise in diagnosing and caring for our cardiovascular patients.

2018 Lets Talk Women's Heart Health
October 20, 2018, at the UCLA California Nanosystems Institute (CNSI), UCLA Westwood Campus! Panelists included; Dr. Karol Watson, Dr. Marcella Calfon Press, Dr. Tamara Horwich, Dr. Anne Saltzman, and special guests including; Dr. Anjani Mattai; 'Whole Women Health', Dr. Preethi Srikanthan; 'Diabetes and the Female Heart', Dr. Vijaya Surampudi; 'Healing Through Nutrition'; Grace Griffin, Boston Scientific; 'Close the gap' a health equity initiative.

2017 Lets Talk Women's Heart Health
October 14, 2017 UCLA Women's Cardiovascular Center and Boston Scientific's Close The Gap hosted our first Let's Talk educational event. The Center's physicians and guests shared engaging, information for healthier, mindful living. Attendees enjoyed a heart-healthy menu sampling, soothing live music,information tables with resources for healthy diet and lifestyle, and a panel presentation emceed by Ms. Bri Winkler(ABC Morning News Meteorologist).
