Multidisciplinary Bloom Syndrome Clinic

The UCLA Multidisciplinary Bloom Syndrome Clinic (MBC) provides high-quality, patient-centered clinical care and opportunities for engagement in research and clinical innovation.

Our program is built in collaboration with, and inspired by, the Bloom Syndrome community, particularly advocacy groups such as the Bloom Syndrome Association, who have tirelessly worked to advance the field and support affected families. Our vision includes not only delivering high-quality clinical care but also engaging with patients and families in meaningful ways — whether through research participation, personalized treatment planning, or ongoing community support. We believe that a patient-centered approach is crucial to building trust and achieving lasting impact for the Bloom Syndrome community.

Research

The cornerstone of our research program is our biobank and clinical trials program, specifically designed to address the unique needs of Bloom Syndrome patients. Our focus on precision medicine will ensure that trial participants receive the most personalized and effective care available, setting a new standard for cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment options and improving patient outcomes.

Bloom Syndrome Virtual Tumor Board

We offer a multidisciplinary virtual tumor board for patients with Bloom Syndrome who are diagnosed with cancer. Patients or clinicians can submit a request to initiate a robust discussion among oncologists, geneticists, pathologists, radiologists, surgeons, radiation oncologists, and immunologists to integrate expertise, refine diagnoses, and plan unique treatment options, balancing efficacy with safety. We hope to serve as a platform for learning, data sharing and growing the Registry to inform future clinical trial development and improve overall survival.
