Advance Scientific Discovery That Transforms Aging Care
Breakthroughs in geriatrics start with research. At UCLA, our investigators are tackling urgent challenges in dementia, mobility, mental health, polypharmacy, care transitions, and more. Your support helps us launch bold research ideas, fund pilot studies, and train the next generation of researchers committed to improving the lives of older adults. Join us in driving discovery that redefines what it means to age well.
Geriatrics Discovery Fund
Advancing the science of aging is essential to transforming how we care for older adults. The Geriatric Discovery Fund fuels groundbreaking investigations across clinical, behavioral, and systems-based research that aim to meet the complex needs of aging individuals and their families.
The Generation Xchange Program
The Generation Xchange (GenX) Program connects older adult volunteers with K–3 students in under-resourced schools to boost reading and math skills. This intergenerational model benefits everyone: children gain critical academic support, while older adults experience meaningful engagement that promotes their physical, social, and cognitive well-being. Your gift helps students thrive and older adults stay active, connected, and empowered.
Innovation in Geriatric Medicine Fund
Under the direction of Dr. Brandon Koretz, the Innovation in Geriatric Medicine program was established as a resource for the division’s research, educational, and clinical initiatives that improve and understand resiliency. The goal of the program is to build a steady pipeline of future geriatricians and to help them thrive in their scientific pursuits, launch new clinical programs, and attend resiliency-focused training opportunities.
