Care Compliments

During recovery from an illness or surgery, food plays such a role. I had the pleasure of having service from Irma multiple times. She was well groomed, spoke calmly and kindly. She ascertained my identity each time and help set up the tray and asked if I had all I needed or if there was anything else I needed. Her gentle smile and caring eyes made me feel comforted and cared for by her and your facility. Thank you Irma for making a difference in my recovery!

While having joint replacement is a common procedure in today's times, it is a very serious one, especially when one also has medical comorbidities to consider. I want too thank Dr. Stavrakis for her excellent skills, her kindness and compassion and her specialty knowledge. I watched her with my wife and she is an excellent practitioner and a great teacher. As she teaches residents in her care they will be gaining knowledge and skills from an outstanding surgeon and a great person. I thank her from the bottom of my heart for her care.

I was under Jennifer's care for two shifts. She quickly assessed my needs and worked to make me comfortable. Although I had received anti-nausea medicine, I was very sick to my stomach. I was nauseous and queasy. She intervened with my ordered meds but it was to no avail. I began throwing up.
-- several times in the evening. While most cannot stomach a persons sounds and sights of heaving and the sound of vomiting and the sour smell of vomitus, she stood right there each time; with a vomitus bag; the sme caring eyes and face and concern in her voice. She helped me get through the afternoon and evening. When she was leaving she introduced the night nurse and handed me off safely. The next morning she was back. She did a great assessment of my leg and right away shared in my delight that I had an appetite. She had great clinical skills, able to care for my IVs, my nerve block lines, ice pack machine, SCD leggings, etc. she verified my identity when giving meds and reconciled my Med list. She exhibits passion and skill. I thank her for my care and for being there for me during a vulnerable time, embracing her needs.

Kylee provided me with great physical therapy sessions along with a very positive attitude. She did a great job of explaining the exercises and what we were to do while keeping me safely near her in case I would get weak. She worked with me on post op day one and helped giving me confidence and encouragement. I appreciate her work!

I cannot express my gratitude to Dr. Sassi and the entire staff at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center for their incredible professionalism throughout my colonoscopy procedure at the hospital. Everyone from admissions to the nurses, medical technicians were so caring and supportive! I wish I could list each and everyone of the GI LAB/MPU department personnel by name as each deserves special recognition. I felt like I was being cared for by family!

Please pass on my deep gratitude to everyone involved in my procedure. I am brimming with pride as an alumni of that extraordinary place known as UCLA. After being in the care of UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center, I now know why it is nationally ranked as one of the best medical universities in the U.S.

My Care Partner, Nila F., was very tentative and did an outstanding job. When asked, she explained she is also a full time student at Azusa Pacific working on her degree in nursing. In my opinion, Nila will make an outstanding nurse because she truly cares about the health and welfare of her patients. I unfortunately have spent a lot of time in the hospital and can tell when people are passionate about their profession. Nila Falcon is one of those people. UCLA would be smart to hire Nurse Nila when she graduates with her nursing degree.

This is my father's first visit here. He has a list of medical conditions, and Dr Hoesterey went through them one after another with very detailed questions with great patience. Because my dad doesn't speak English, he patiently wait for the translation to go back and forth, and making sure my dad get all the information he needs. He did a whole set of screening very thoroughly, provide some recommendations and explain the reason very well.
One thing is his schedule is very very full, hard to get one if you want to be seen sooner.

This is my father's first visit here. The level of care is exceptional the moment we passed through the front desk. Dr Run stops by to say hello when we are with the nurse to get the blood sugar tested. Then, we went to the treatment room. He go through the whole history about my father's health problem, including the possible cause of my father's diabetes. He kindly correct an error in our medical record about the current insulin my dad is taking after reading through the medication description sheet. He also went through my father's other medical condition to make sure the diabetes management is well coordinated with his other health care needs. The nurse interrupted us twice about his upcoming patient, but Dr Yu doesn't rush us, go over the next steps, the reason for doing so, and a possible long term plan for better management of blood sugar. We had such an amazing experience here, and it well worth the 3 hour traffic and the high insurance copy because of the hospital location.

Catherine is the most attentive, most informative, & most caring nurse I probably have ever encountered. I can ask her millions of questions without her getting mad like most nurses and doctors do. She keeps me in the loop with EVERYTHING which I really appreciate and she continuously checks on me where as in the past I've had nurses go their whole 12 hour shift without checking on me. She goes above and beyond and makes the whole hospital experience a truly good one.

On July 25, 2019 I had a scheduled TEE/Cardioversion with Dr. Yang. I was extremely impressed with the compassion and kindness provided by Isabel before, during and after my procedure. I was very anxious about having this procedure and I'm not proud to share that I am not an easy patient to deal with. Isabel's professionalism and outstanding competence, helped me feel less anxious and more comfortable as things progressed with my procedure. I also felt very safe and well cared for because of her actions throughout the procedure. She is an excellent practitioner and I wanted to recognize her for her sincere, caring compassion that she provided me with at a difficult time. I appreciated being able to experience such a high level of nursing care from Isabel. She clearly represents and supports the highest standard of safe, compassionate and quality care that is associated UCLA Health.

Alyssa went and continues to go above and beyond. When securing admittance into an ALF for my mother and facing weeks of delay in getting a doctor to complete the forms, Alyssa and Dr Adachi came through the day before transfer date and got the forms completed. Alyssa then called me before she left for home to make sure our urgent need had been meet. And today, Alyssa followed up on our pressing safety issue for my mother. Both Alyssa and Dr Adachi have exceeded our expectations. I feel my mother and stepfather are well taken care of in their hands. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou!

From Day one, Dr. Prabaker has been beyond amazing with my care. She has made me feel secure and safe in regards to taking care of my body. She is very kind and attentive to my medical needs.
