Care Compliments
Dr. Timothy Donahue
Thank you Dr. Donahue and team. All the interactions, from the first appointment, through surgery & hospitalization to pos-op were excellent. You took time to explain all the procedures, answered our questions, listened to our concerns, kept us informed and really cared about us as a patient and family. Besides your professional skills and credentials you were kind and empathetic. You gently guided us through uncertain times. You and your team made us feel safe. Thank you.

I just wanted to send a big thank you for seeing me as not only as a patient, but a human being! I always feel taken care of, heard and respected at my appointments. Thank you for always being kind, always listening, and always encouraging. Your willingness to go that extra mile is remarkable and cherished. You make my drive from the OC worth it, and I will continue to make the drive as long as I live in Southern California.

We had a very positive experience with Dr. Zavahir, the X-Ray technician, and the rest of the staff at UCLA Health Marina del Rey Immediate care, as on a Saturday early evening they kindly and quickly diagnosed and splinted my daughter's fractured arm and referred us to a pediatric orthopedist for casting the next morning. I am happy to know they are in our neighborhood.

I don't even know where to begin or how to express how I feel about Dr Mae St John.
I am HERE, HEALED, and STRONGER than I was 2 1/2 years ago.
Her brilliance, her compassion, her intuitiveness and professionalism helped me through the "fight for my life".
The medical world is blessed to have her in their life as well as I AM.
I cannot praise highly enough the incredible professionalism and kindest the HEAD and NECK team at UCLA under the leadership of Dr Mae St John and Mensa Hasanovic has provided for my family and myself. They are available 24/7 with efficiency and attention to details. I truly cannot imagine navigating my personal medical needs without them.

Dr. Ajijola very knowledgeable and caring physician! I've never experienced such a pleasant professional treatment from any other medical provider such as the experience I received from the cardiovascular team. Dr. Ajijola was very patient, explained everything very detailed, and took his time to make sure I understood all the information he was providing me.
From his NP Ms. Olga Heinman to Ms. Sara scheduling appointments to Ms. Cecilia Flores, absolutely all amazing knowledgeable and sweet staff.
Thank you to the cardiovascular cardiac team for all your help, support, and respect that you provide To your patients.

Dr. Harari, thank you for the excellent care you provided, leading up to and through my surgery. Your careful, deliberate approach gave me a lot of confidence in the medical process and, ultimately, I had no doubt that surgery was my best option. I also had no doubt that you were the surgeon who I wanted to perform the surgery. I am very happy and grateful for how you conducted the entire process. I would, without hesitation, highly recommend you as physician and surgeon to anyone who would listen.

Support with a variety of issues going back some time:
• For seeing me through my complicated staph infection in March 2019
• For identifying possible anemia and referring me for further testing
• For referring me to a cardiologist who (finally) talked me into a medium does of statins, which have not been problematic at all
• For the wonderful referral to Dr. Putnam, leading to deviated septum surgery, which has changed my breathing at night, causing me to sleep very soundly. Additionally, I want to report that, knock on wood, I have not had any types of bronchial/ sinus issues. That may be due to the isolation the last 5 months and the lack of exposure to outside germs, but I also think it has to do with the sinus surgery and daily rinses I have been doing under her supervision.

Sarah was with me when my ultrasound revealed a mass that the doctor on staff thought was very likely cancer. She recognized that I was distressed and walked me to the door. I asked her which facility on the west side would be a good option for my biopsy and she recommended Manhattan Beach, which she also worked at. They got me in immediately and to my surprise, she was there to greet me when I arrived. She went above and beyond to make me feel safe and cared for, chit chatting with me in prep and holding my hand during the biopsy. I'm literally crying writing this, because she was so kind and calming for me. I found out today it is not cancer and couldn't wait to write this. Thank you Sarah. You're a beautiful special woman who made this very hard experience bearable for me in a time where we all need more kindness.

I have never seen a more compassionate, caring, gentle doctor. We called him to help pronounce a patient's death at 3am. The patient was not even his. He was very kind to all the nursing staff. he showed so much compassion and care when he assessed the patient's body. He was very comforting when he spoke to the family. Dr Whelan needs to be recognized! It shows on his actions and words how much he truly cares.

I normally have pretty high anxiety when it comes to getting blood drawn, but Elaine made me feel comforted and the process was painless. Nicest first visit to the doctor I've had 🙂

Jay is a miracle blood draw staff member. I never even feel the needle go in nor during his pulling several vials of blood. After being poked many times during my lung transplant stay his soft touch means a great deal.

Susana is one of the most kind and caring care partners who has attended me on 8W when I came in for some follow up issues to my 7/9 lung transplant. Her gentle way made my day much less frightening. Her encouragement meant everything.
