Care Compliments

Mark Girgis, MD

Dr. Mark Girgis was brought on my team to utilize his surgical robotic skills during my surgery. I didn't get a chance to hand pick him, but I am so pleased with him that I would like to share his name with all who need his expert surgical hands. Not only is he an excellent surgeon, but he has such a nice personality that he makes you feel so comfortable. The surgery outcome was better than I expected and I know that it was due to my Super Doctors and their skills. I can't thank them enough.

Neil Jethro M.

Dear Jethro, thank you for helping me while I was recovering from surgery.
Your compassion, optimism and kindness do not go unnoticed. I'd like you to know that because of you, I was less scared during my stay.
It really shows how much you love what you do.
I don't usually write reviews or notes but I wanted you to know you really made an impact during my stay at UCLA. I was so anxious but you went above and beyond to make me feel safe and comfortable. Thank you. It is people like you that make the world a better place.

Prior to coming to UCLA OBGYN in Santa Monica, I had gone to two other high profile docs. I was looking for answers regarding the unending symptoms I was having. The first two docs, while skilled I am sure, could not give me the time of day to discuss my symptoms, potential treatment options and why I might be experiencing the level of discomfort. I received pills and was told I would have to most likely just deal with the issues.

I had been a part of the UCLA system for many years, but never thought to engage with the OBGYN until now. I was assigned Dr. Romeroso and knew very little about what I was going to get. I always liked the UCLA docs, so I was hopeful.

From beginning to end, the team were pros. Even when the doctor was running a bit behind (which I anticipate in most situations), both the nurse and the Dr. Romeroso made it a point to apologize and not take my time for granted. Dr. Romeroso was outstanding. She was informative, took the time to fully explain and discuss treatment options. She was personable, clearly educated and did not dismiss my symptoms and just hand me a pill. She was the first doctor in over a year who finally made me feel as though there is a path towards healing once and for all. I feel like she was an angel and I was in amazing hands.

I cannot say enough about the joy I felt working with that office and Dr. Romeroso. Just by performing the most basic tasks, client care, she has won me over and maintained the ongoing commitment I know UCLA has to patient satisfaction. I am eternally grateful.

Damian N.

I'd like to recognize and thank Damian for his help during my mother's time in the MPU. He communicated her care plan throughout her stay and checked in often to see if either one of us had any questions or needs. He made our stay a pleasant one, which we won't forget anytime soon and will share with friends and family.

Dr. Tran is very knowledgeable and detail oriented. She has been taking care of my husband while he is recovering from a hospital visit. He is a challenging patient with Parkinson's Disease and Parkinson's Dementia an as well as a physician himself. She is caring and compassionate and does a thorough evaluation and treatment regime with kindness and generosity of spirit. I have been greatly impressed by her extraordinary patience and knowledge. I trust her evaluation and treatment regime without hesitation. highly recommend her.

This is a very heartfelt Thank you for not only Dr. David C Chen, but his entire Team that had any part in my surgery! I've had my fair share of surgeries and I was extremely nervous for this one knowing it was complicated, but the best decision I made was finding Dr. Chen From start to finish, they calmed my nerves and explained everything thoroughly. I left understanding everything and had a phone call immediately checking on me. When I woke up from surgery, My Husband was there and he had already had my prescriptions filled. Very professional and so genuine! The best of the best! I am so thankful that I was truly blessed to have the best Doctors, Nurses and Anesthesiologists.

Thank you so much for taking excellent care of me and making sure I was doing good in every aspect of my care. You went above and beyond my expectations. Please let all the doctors in "THE UROLOGY CREW" know that I that goes for them as well and that goes double for the nurses on floor 8.
Also to my surgery team who I didn't get the pleasure of meeting/remembering in a fully conscious state. I'm going to list the first names of all the RA's and CP's I do remember from floor 8 in hopes they'll see this and know much I truly appreciate them:
MARI
MONICA
NICOLE
SUN/MOON
TIFFANY
FATIMA
MARY
If there is any of you that I've forgotten I since leaving the hospital I apologize for forgetting your name and you were all amazing.

With Love Always,
-Kellen

Katrina N.

Every single staff member who helped take care of us during our time in L&D was fantastic. However, Katrina was a standout among standouts. I had a very difficult labor that did not progress as I had hoped it would, and Katrina was the perfect person to take care of me on the day I delivered (when I was just about at the end of my rope). She took the initiative to alert anesthesia that I might want an epidural without putting pressure on me either way, which helped get me the epidural almost immediately after I did decide I wanted one. She continually worked as a team with my doula to help make me comfortable and get me into positions my doula thought would be helpful. And finally, she provided the kindest and most helpful encouragement while I was pushing. When I genuinely thought I wouldn't be able to give another ounce of effort, her voice was there cheering me on. UCLA is very lucky to have a nurse like Katrina on their team.

I could write a care compliment about nearly everyone I met while admitted for the birth of my son, but Kelly was one of the staff members that really went above and beyond in our care. She was my nurse on a very difficult emotional night for me, and the kindness and patience she showed during her shift were impressive even for a top notch nurse. She even stopped by the post partum unit during her next shift to check in with me about how I was doing and to congratulate us on the birth. Kelly's support greatly helped me process and embrace what I might have otherwise carried with me as a significant trauma for years to come. She is a caring, incredible nurse and her patients are very lucky to have her.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Cohen. First of all, I think he is a brilliant physician and surgeon. But, what really makes him stand out is how he made me feel like I was his only patient and that he would spend as much time with me as I needed. He was incredibly thorough in not only asking me about my history, but in explaining all my options. He called before my surgery to see if I had any more questions, and he called several times after to see how I was doing and to update me on the results. He emphasized that I should feel free to contact him any time with any questions. I think the highest compliment one can give a doctor is that they treat a patient like a member of their family and Dr. Cohen did that for me. I feel so lucky to have found him!

During the birth of my daughter and the recovery in the hospital, Ella took such great care of me and my family. She spent time with us in the room and listened to our questions and concerns. I can't say enough about how fabulous she was! Thank you Ella!
