Course Details

The Preceptor Development Hybrid Workshop is a two-part course that includes (8) hours of e-learning modules followed by (1) four (4)-hour live, virtual session on Zoom.

The Preceptor Development Course includes the following core areas:

  • Bridge cultural and generational differences
  • Define Preceptor role(s) and expectations
  • Incorporate learning styles and teaching techniques
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving strategies
  • Role model providing positive and constructive feedback
  • Demonstrate strategies to overcome challenges and resolve conflicts

Target Audience

Preceptors must have a minimum of 1 year of work experience at UCLA Health. Nurses who are experienced, inexperienced, current preceptors, and/or future preceptors are all welcome to take the training.

Participants will be awarded contact hours.

Registration

Manager approval is required to attend the course.
