UCLA Health’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center has been listed as an International Cardio-Oncology Society Gold Tier Center of Excellence for cardio-oncology by Becker's Oncology

The Gold Status designation is the highest level of certification awarded by the global organization and recognizes programs that demonstrate the highest standards of care in the cardio-oncology field, including the use of integrated patient care pathways, specialized training and contributions to advancing scientific knowledge. The certification also establishes a rigorous quality metrics framework that supports the ongoing development, growth and clinical impact of each recognized program.

“Becker's recognition of our program reflects our team's ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive, multidisciplinary, patient-centered cardiovascular care to maintain heart health to the highest standards possible during a patient’s cancer journey,” said Dr. Eric Yang, director of the UCLA Health Cardio-Oncology Program and investigator at the UCLA Health Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center. “As cancer therapies continue to advance and more patients thrive after treatment, our goal is to help them maintain optimal cardiovascular health and quality of life for years to come.”

At UCLA Health, the Cardio-Oncology Program provides expert, multidisciplinary care for patients whose cancer treatments may affect heart health. From prevention and risk assessment to advanced imaging, medications and specialized procedures, the team addresses cardiovascular complications throughout cancer treatment and survivorship. In addition to its clinical excellence, the team is actively engaged in research to better understand the mechanisms of treatment-related heart disease and to develop novel approaches that improve long-term outcomes for cancer survivors.
