About

Dr. Eric Yang is currently a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Ronald Reagan University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center. He obtained his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine, and completed his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where he served as chief fellow.

Since joining the academic faculty at UCLA as a clinician educator in 2011, he has been involved both in the invasive and noninvasive realms of the field, serving as one of the cardiology liaisons on the Lung Transplantation Committee. He also is a member of the Structural Heart Intervention Team, assisting in echocardiography guided procedures on transcatheter aortic and mitral valve procedures. Dr. Yang's clinical interests also include medical education, where he has served as Associate Program Director of the UCLA Cardiovascular Diseases Fellowship since 2013.

He officially established the UCLA Cardio-oncology Program in 2016 which he continues to head. In 2022, the program was designated a Gold Tier Cardio-Oncology Center of Excellence by the International Cardio-Oncology Society.

His clinical and research interests include valvular disease, advanced multimodality imaging, echocardiography, and cardio-oncology.

Doctor Yang explained my test results answered all my question with care and compassion and checked my at home blood pressure machine to make sure it was calibrated correctly. I feel so blessed to be in his care. He also gave me additional ways to get my exercise in that I had not thought about. On top of all that he was so kind and supportive I know how much he cares and wants all his patients to get better. The staff were equally wonderful kind and helpful! I am so grateful to be in his care. Thanks to all.

Dr. Yang is extremely knowledgeable. He combines that with compassion and excellent communication skills. His guidance helped me thrive through treatment for nonhodgkins lymphoma in spite of my cardiac challenges 5 years ago. I continue to rely on his guidance as I continue to fight the disease. He is an asset to UCLA and to all of the patients who come into the sphere of his care.
