Pediatric Lupus Clinic

The Pediatric Lupus Clinic at UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital offers a unique program combining Rheumatology and Nephrology to provide comprehensive clinical care and cutting edge treatments for children and adolescents with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus(SLE, or lupus)and other rheumatic diseases that affect the kidneys.

Lupus is a chronic inflammatory disease that occurs when a person's immune system attacks tissues and organs in various parts of the body. This abnormal activity of the immune system can lead to tissue damage and other illnesses. Our team of expert physicians provides combined evaluation, care, research and educational support for children and adolescents with lupus, and works closely with kidney specialists and other pediatric specialists to provide clinical care tailored to the needs of each patient.
