Subspecialty Consultative Fellowship

Find your care

As leaders in East-West Medicine, our experts are here to deliver exceptional care.

The consultative fellowship is designed to equip fellows with in-depth working knowledge in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) principles and its application in an outpatient integrative medicine consultative practice. TCM principles are imparted to fellows during weekly didactic sessions through the first year of fellowship that cover the foundations of TCM, acupuncture training, and TCM internal medicine. These sessions, in addition to a robust clinical hands-on experience, allow MD and DO fellowship graduates to combine Western Medicine and TCM principles effectively and independently without any prior knowledge of TCM.

The second half of the fellowship is subsequently focused on broader integrative medicine education, training, and practice.

Graduates from this fellowship leave with a distinctive area of expertise in an area of their interest. Examples include Integrative East-West approaches to patients with ENT, autoimmune conditions and managing inpatient/high utilizer patient populations. We have a diverse array of clinical and research faculty to help mentor our fellows in their preferred focus.

Consultative fellows will spend most of their clinical time seeing patients referred to our outpatient practice for debilitating illnesses that are not optimally treated in the current medical model. Graduates will also receive training to work in conjunction with acupuncturists and manual therapists. Upon completion of the fellowship, they will be poised to establish a successful integrative medicine consultative practice.
