About Our Unit
Welcome to the Cardiac Observation Unit (COU). Our 13-bed unit provides comprehensive cardiac care to individuals with congestive heart failure, cardiomyopathy, pre- and postcardiac procedures, dysrhythmias, and individuals awaiting heart transplants.
We are committed to providing a compassionate, healing and safe environment. Our multidisciplinary healthcare team works in partnership with our patients and their families.
About Your Care
Our team consists of physicians, registered nurses, clinical social workers, discharge planners, case managers, physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists, all are working together to provide you with optimal outcomes as supported by cutting-edge medical science, nursing and technology.

Useful Information to Know During Your Stay
You will be receiving continuous cardiac monitoring, frequent assessments, diagnostic testing and blood work that may be done throughout the day and night in order to ensure your well-being. On occasion, you may experience a delay of tests or procedures due to the complexity of our patients' cases. We will make every effort to facilitate timely service.
Our experienced and dedicated nurse management team and cardiac coordinators are available to assist you and your family if you have questions and concerns during and after your hospital stay.
