Mechanisms of Brain Decline
Clues on dementia from genes, immunity and sex
I study why dementia looks different from person to person by tracing how genes, the brain’s immune system and biological sex work together to drive decline. By mapping how these factors interact in brain tissue, I aim to reveal who is at risk, why two people with the same diagnosis progress differently, and which treatments are most likely to help.
Use this collection to ask questions at any level, follow answers back to the sources, and see how a more personal understanding of cognitive decline can point to better prevention.
