Fellowship Application

Eligibility Criteria for Fellowship Training at UCLA

  1. MD (Medical Degree) or equivalent
  2. US Citizenship, Canadian Citizenship, or permanent resident status in the U.S. is preferred
  3. ** For Non-Citizens: We can consider applicants who carry J-1 visas on a case-by-case basis (please send your CV for review). Currently all other visa types are not eligible for fellowship
  4. Completion of 3 years of pediatric residency in an ACGME-approved program
  5. Expectation of satisfactory completion of requirements for Certification in Pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics
  6. UCLA Participates in the National Residency Match Program (NRMP). You must register with the NRMP and provide us with your NRMP #
  7. California Medical License (at the time of starting fellowship)

Length of fellowship: 3 years

Number of fellowship positions available per year: 2

Application Process

All applications must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS), including CV, personal statement, and 3 letters of recommendation. The Program will download and review applications starting in July when ERAS releases applications to the program for review. Positions are competitive, so please submit your applications early. Upon application review, we will notify you of interview availability.

Timeline for applications

  • July of each academic year: Applications are reviewed in Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS)
  • September through November: Fellowship applicant interviews
  • November: Rank List submitted to National Residency Matching Programs (NRMP)
  • December: Fellowship Match Day - exact date determined by NRMP
