Kelly Cheung, M.D.

Dr. Kelly Cheung-Warren was born and raised in Anaheim, California. She majored in biology at UC Irvine and became the first in her family to graduate college. She attended medical school at the Virginia Commonwealth University and joined the primary care underserved track. She completed internal medicine residency at UCLA’s Primary Care program and completed the Medical Education pathway. Dr. Cheung-Warren is pursuing an integrated two-year fellowship in geriatrics and palliative care to complement her practice in primary care and inpatient medicine. She hopes to serve in underserved settings in LA county as an ally in health equity and social justice. She is also a champion for age-friendly care and leveraging social media for mentorship and medical education.

Lauren Matsuno, M.D.

Dr. Lauren Matsuno was born in Torrance and grew up in San Jose, California. She earned her B.S. in Molecular Toxicology from UC Berkeley and her M.D. from UCLA. She also completed her Internal Medicine residency in the Primary Care Program at UCLA. Her passion for geriatrics began with the MSTAR program, which inspired her interest in interdisciplinary, holistic care. She has conducted research in social isolation, advance care planning, dementia, and elder abuse. Other interests include Asian American health and health disparities. She hopes to pursue a career in primary care, community work, and advocacy. Outside of medicine, she enjoys Nihon Buyo (traditional Japanese dance), puzzles, and exploring national parks.

Deborah Oyeyemi Walton, M.D., M.S.

Dr. Deborah Oyeyemi Walton grew up in Sacramento, CA. She graduated with distinction in Psychology-Neuroscience from Yale University, received her medical degree from Duke University, and completed primary care internal medicine residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Prior to joining the geriatrics program, Dr. Oyeyemi Walton was a postdoctoral fellow in the National Clinician Scholars Program at UCLA. Her research focuses on dementia caregiving, and she plans to pursue a career in academic medicine as a clinician scientist after fellowship.

Sasha Parra, M.D.

Dr. Sasha Parra was born and raised in Los Angeles California. She received her B.S and B.A in Human Biology and Community Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz before completing the UC Davis postbaccalaureate program. She completed medical school at the Charles R. Drew/UCLA medical education program before completing Internal Medicine residency at UC Davis in the primary care track. She is a certified CNA and has worked in various nursing homes. Her professional interests include medical education, working with low-income geriatric communities. When she is not working she is chasing around her 3 year old and spending time with her husband.

Matthew Quan, M.D.

Dr. Matthew Quan was raised in Southern California. He received his BA in Linguistics from the University of California, Berkeley, before pursuing a medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine. He returned to Los Angeles to complete his residency in Family Medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. His professional interests include dementia, falls, medical education, and caring for the underserved. In his free time, Matthew enjoys spending time with his wife and 1-year-old son, going to art galleries, and skateboarding with his friends.

Kevin Williams, M.D.

Originally from Alaska, I earned my B.S. in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University before attending medical school, residency, and obtaining a master’s degree in bioethics at Loma Linda University in California. My approach to patient care prioritizes empowering individuals to take control of their health and live life on their terms. Whether that means reducing unnecessary medications, addressing mental health concerns like depression and anxiety, or focusing on strength and independence, my goal is to help each patient maximize their well-being and quality of life.

Suyee Win, M.D., B.S.

Dr. Suyee Win grew up in the San Gabriel Valley in California. She received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry at Williams College in Massachusetts, and received her medical degree at California University of Science and Medicine in San Bernardino, California. She completed her internal medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in 2025. Suyee was inspired to pursue geriatric medicine from her experience growing up with her grandfather and taking care of him after his dementia worsened. She is interested in outpatient medicine and providing primary care to the geriatric population.

Olivia Yang, M.D.

Olivia Yang was born in Torrance, California. She went to UCLA for MIMG and then went on to California University of Science and Medicine for medical school. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Riverside Community Hospital in Riverside county. Olivia is happy to return to UCLA and Los Angeles to complete geriatrics fellowship. Her interest in geriatrics stems from taking a class on aging at UCLA and applying what she learned there on family members and patients. For the future, she plans on pursuing Rheumatology fellowship and work in quality improvement to improve the quality for older adults.

Jen Yim, M.D.

Dr. Jen Yim was born in South Korea and grew up in Simi Valley, CA. She earned her bachelor's degree in Music and Biology from Northwestern University before obtaining her medical degree from the Keck School of Medicine of USC. She then completed her Internal Medicine residency at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. Throughout her medical training, she developed a passion for caring for vulnerable populations and plans to focus on nursing home care. Outside of medicine, Jen enjoys hiking with her dog, exploring new restaurants, and playing violin.

Zakir Ali, D.O.

Zakir Ali, a Houston native, earned his Biochemistry degree from UCLA before attending medical school at Des Moines University. He then returned to his hometown to complete his residency in Family Medicine at Houston Methodist. His passion for geriatrics was sparked at an early age through accompanying his grandfather to doctor’s visits, shaping his commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care. Zakir aims to create nursing home settings that respect cultural diversity through tailored food, activities, and traditions, fostering familiarity and dignity. Outside of medicine, he enjoys hiking, exploring new cuisines, spending time with his cats, and collecting sneakers.
