Care Compliments
Princeton L.
My baby boy was seeing Dr.Ly, he is very friendly and patient, he listens and answers every question, and gives good advice. He also replies to my messages quickly, in detail, mostly, I get a reply within an hour. I can feel that he is definitely passionate about his work, love, and care kids.
I am out of the area so won't be seeing him, but I would recommend parents to have him as the pediatrician.

Dr. Salani showed great compassion and empathy when caring for my sick Mom. She understood how anxious we all were and sent the results of the tests as soon as they became available to allay our fears. Thank you so much Dr Salani.

UCLA is by far the most up-beat and positively proactive health care entity I have ever experienced. In the past two yrs I have had to visit several sites for med services. The level of care interaction from start to finish has been Awesome. Thank you for setting a standard of what I expect in medicine and care.

Judith S.
Nurse Judith Spencer gave truly professional, excellent and compassionate care to my father-in-law after his heart attack. I credit the UCLA cath lab for saving his life and Judith for starting his recovery on the right foot. She is exemplary of the ultimate in nursing and we are forever grateful for her kindness.

Tatiana J.
On behalf of Vincent Lawrence and family, I want to start by saying that Tatiana is our superhero. She has been a guiding force that has helped us navigate getting important procedures successfully accomplished for Vincent, whom we love so much. She takes time to listen and cares about Vincent, the patient, and us as the family. She has been consoling and truly loving beyond belief. It would take pages to write how much she has done for Vincent and our family. I hope we've made it crystal clear that she's an excellent nurse and one of the greatest SUPERHEROES we have seen yet. Thank you so much for being there in our time of need. When Vincent gets better he will want to tell you himself. Sincerely, The Lawrences and Fiancé

Carilyn S.
It's been 9 months since I had given birth and I can't praise Dr.Carilyn Sparks enough! I had a very chill and uneventful pregnancy but a difficult labor- however throughout the whole process I knew that I was in very capable care. Dr. Sparks had things under control and I never felt mine or my baby's life/health was in jeopardy. I'm a "One and Done" mom, however, I highly recommend any and all expecting moms to go to Dr. Sparks! Plus, she's not just smart but very witty! My husband and I loved working with Dr. Sparks throughout my pregnancy.

Lindsy B.
Lindsy was the circulator RN during my c-section and my PACU nurse at the UCLA Santa Monica Birth Place. She made my husband and I feel so comfortable through the process and went above and beyond in making sure we were comfortable with everything going on.

Julia M.
Julia was the care partner that was assigned to me the night after my c-section. She was extremely gentle and caring, went above and beyond to make sure I felt comfortable after my surgery. She made sure to check on me frequently and found creative ways to address the discomfort. She was patient and kind. I am so grateful to have had such a compassionate care partner to help me through an otherwise very tough night.

Wayne W.
Wayne has been extremely helpful in working with me to help my patients. He has always gone above and beyond in ensuring my oncology patients receive all their medications in a timely manner. Many of these medications are controlled substances and patients often have difficulty filling them at outside pharmacies. Wayne has always been responsive to assist this patient population, knowing how important it is for them to receive their meds quickly for pain relief.

Alexander C.
Dr. Chiang was my OB for my son. Despite the unusual circumstances of going through this experience during the current pandemic, he made me feel at ease throughout the entire duration of my pregnancy and delivery. He has always been very responsive to all my questions and addressing all my concerns in a calm and timely manner.

I want to write a commendation for Mr. Lemus. He was great -- and I hope this note gets him a raise and/or a promotion. Background...my father had a stroke and was a patient. Mr. Lemus exercised great judgment in coordinating the valet area, allowing me (and I assume others) who needed to get to loved ones suffering -- and get to them fast -- while simultaneously maintaining order and organization in the valet area.
To be clear, Mr. Lemus did not ask for this note. I WANTED (and offered) to write this note.
Anyway, I hope Mr. Lemus is rewarded with a raise or promotion.

The UCLA Health Patient Experience Team
300 Stein Plaza Ste 536 Los Angeles, Ca 90095
Regarding my recent surgery,
As a 74 year old male, I'm perhaps not the easiest patient to deal with. After some procrastination on my part, I was treated for severely degenerated disc disease on August 28th at UCLA Orthopedic Hospital in Santa Monica. It's difficult to find the words to express how deeply appreciative I am to all the amazing people who were involved. I experienced the highest level of professionalism, skill and empathy at every step of the experience.
As I write this letter, I'm currently five days out of surgery. I just took a one mile walk, I'm feeling strong and relieved of most of the symptoms. I'm comforted knowing that the impinged nerves are no longer subject to the damage and the pain of severe stenosis.
The surgeon treating me was Dr. Daniel C. Lu, MD, PhD. His frankness and dedication garnered my confidence. Following Dr. Lu's methodical orders and evaluation, I was "ready" when he offered to treat me.
A big believer in congruity, I have to believe that the surgery went perfectly. I believe this because every part of the process, during my consciousness, was far above my high expectations. In the operating room, Dr. Lu was a man of dynamic energy and "in the zone". His co-neurosurgeon, Dr. Gelfand, who had patiently answered my questions earlier, was likewise energetic, sharp and in his "A game". Operating room nurse Ann, was perfect; kind and not letting anything slip by. I went under anesthesia completely confident in this team.
I apologize that I don't remember everyone's name that was involved. The anesthesiologist did a fine job; I was unaware of anything during the operation. There were two kind and attentive intake nurses, I believe Lisa was one. A very nice IV nurse Cirha set IV up as gently as possible. Let me not forget, Naomi, Dr. Lu's "Care Coordinator". She was always available, understanding and kindly responsive. On the telephone, she mirrored the overall true sense of caring.
I feel fortunate to unconditionally, and enthusiastically recommend Dr. Lu and the UCLA Orthopedic Hospital.
I'm humbled by the work and dedication that must have proceeded for such an institution and such wonderful professionals to be available.
Sincerely,
Mark M.

Dr. Roostaeian, is a stellar plastic surgeon. He closed the wound on my face, after the removal of a squamous cell carcinoma, located between my eyebrows. It was roughly the circumference of a dime. In my opinion, his skills as a plastic surgeon are unparalleled and his bedside manner was excellent. The size of the wound was traumatic for me. He made me feel extremely comfortable and was very reassuring, during the entire time he was closing the wound. It has been almost three months since Dr. Roostaeian closed my wound and each day it gets better and it is now almost unnoticeable. I feel very fortunate to be a patient of Dr. Roostaeian.
