Amy L. Cummings, MD, PhD

Director, Inclusive Excellence

Dr. Amy Cummings is a thoracic oncologist who sees lung cancer patients, runs clinical trials, and is part of the multidisciplinary Thoracic Oncology Program. Her clinical interests include immunotherapy, precision medicine, and providing inclusive compassionate care to all patients.

Fola May, MD, PhD

Advisor

Dr. Fola May is an assistant professor of medicine and digestive diseases. She is the director of the May Laboratory, which engages in health services research and quality improvement related to population health, preventive health and health disparities at UCLA Health and in the Veterans Affairs. She obtained her medical degree from Yale University in molecular, cellular, and developmental biology.

Antoni Ribas, MD, PhD

Dr. Antoni Ribas is professor of medicine, surgery, and molecular and medical pharmacology at the University of California Los Angeles, director of the Tumor Immunology Program at the UCLA Health Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center and director of the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy Center at UCLA.

Ashley Prosper, MD

Dr. Ashley Prosper is a radiologist specializing in thoracic and diagnostic cardiovascular imaging at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. She received her B.A. degree in Biological Sciences while minoring in business administration at the University of Southern California. She also obtained her medical degree from USC at the Keck School of Medicine.

Christine Samuel-Nakamura, PhD, RN, FNP-BC

Dr. Christine Samuel-Nakamura's research focuses on examining the relationships between environmental toxins and chronic health conditions, including cancers and adverse outcomes. She is particularly interested in improving disparities in American Indian, Alaska Native and Indigenous peoples and other underserved communities.
