Sukrant K. Mehta, MD

Dr. Sukrant Mehta is a fellowship-trained, minimally invasive gynecologic surgeon who specializes in complex pelvic surgery for benign gynecologic conditions including uterine fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, endometriosis, adenomyosis, adnexal cysts, and other conditions that may require minimally invasive surgery or interventions.

He is devoted to improving women’s health through evidence-based practice and by providing compassionate, holistic, and patient-centered approach to care. His clinical interests include complex gynecologic surgery, robotic surgery, advanced laparoscopic techniques, large fibroids, endometriosis, and adopting novel technologies. His academic interests include surgical education, simulation training, and novel technologies. He has played an integral role in bringing new technologies for gynecologic care to UCLA, including natural orifice surgery - vNOTES (transvaginal natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery) as well as transcervical radiofrequency ablation of fibroids (SONATA).

Dr. Mehta currently serves as the Associate Program Director for the Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gyenecologic Surgery, as well as the Santa Monica UCLA Gynecology Site Director for the OBGYN Residency. In these roles, he continues to educate and mentor the next generation of gynecologic surgeons, and has won numerous teaching awards over the last decade for his dedication to education.

Dr. Mehta is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the America College of Obstetrician and Gynecologists (ACOG), as well as an active member of the AAGL (formerly the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists).
