About

Dr. Justin J. Slade is an interventional cardiologist based in Santa Monica. His clinical interests include preventive cardiology, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease, and arrhythmia. His subspecialty focus is on percutaneous (minimally invasive) coronary interventions using stents and related technologies.

Originally from Michigan, Dr. Slade earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Boston College and his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his internal medicine residency at Stanford University, serving as Chief Resident in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety at the Palo Alto VA Medical Center. He then pursued fellowships in cardiovascular disease at Kaiser San Francisco and interventional cardiology at UCLA.

Dr. Slade is a Clinical Instructor of Medicine at UCLA. His research focuses on healthcare delivery science, quality improvement, and patient safety. He has published on a range of these topics, including efforts to optimize guideline-directed medical therapy, improve outcomes for patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), and leverage electronic health record (EHR) systems to enhance heart failure management.

Outside of work, Dr. Slade enjoys adventures with his wife and daughter as well as their toy poodle: “Jooni”. He loves cooking, golfing, spending time on the water, live music and comedy shows.

I really appreciate it how Dr. Slate took his time to explain things to me and was not dismissive when I asked questions.

Went as well as could be expected. I ended up needing the doctor to fill out a lot of paperwork, which he did without complaint

Dr Slade said that I can stop taking the high blood pressure Lysinopril He also said that the leaking heart valve problem is not a issue at this time we also discussed diet and nutrition I asked him what I should eat for more energy he said that I should try to take more walks right after eating a meal
