Advancing brain health for veterans
As lead neurologist for the Brain Health Intensive Treatment Program, Kevin Bickart, MD, PhD, focuses on the connection between brain function, behavior and resilience in those living with traumatic brain
injury and post-traumatic stress.
“While we’re with patients and meeting about them, we’re constantly thinking about them—all these different aspects of what makes the person tick, what makes them thrive, or what is in their way,” he says.
Dr. Bickart works closely with veterans who often arrive after years of seeking answers, using a collaborative, individualized approach to care. Through research and team-based treatment, Operation Mend continues to deepen understanding of brain health and support more personalized paths to recovery.
