Dr. Natalia Ramos, MD, MPH, Medical Director
Dr. Ramos (she/her/hers) is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. She completed her undergraduate education at Stanford University and received her Medical Degree from the Keck School of Medicine of USC. She also holds a Master's Degree from the Harvard School of Public Health.
Dr. Ramos serves as Medical Director of the UCLA Stress, Trauma, and Resilience (STAR) Clinic, the Child Psychiatry Consultation Liaison Service at UCLA Medical Center Santa Monica, and the EMPWR Program for LGBTQ+ mental health. Her clinical interests include trauma and toxic stress, mood disorders, ADHD, anxiety, and LGBTQ-affirming care.
Dr. Ramos is also part of the DMH-UCLA Prevention Center of Excellence, which delivers programming and training to county agencies and promotes wellbeing across Los Angeles communities. She is active in the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, where she co-chairs the committee on gender and sexuality, and serves on the board of APLA Health.
Dr. Catherine Mogil, PsyD, Clinical Director
Dr. Mogil (she/her/hers) is an Associate Clinical Professor at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior in the David Geffen School of Medicine. She is a licensed clinical psychologist and serves as the Clinical Director of the Stress, Trauma and Resilience (STAR) Clinic and Director of the Family Development Program. Dr. Mogil’s research focuses on intervention development and implementation strategies to better serve families facing adversity, including infants born into the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, families involved in the child-welfare system, and military-connected children. She is the co-developer of several interventions including Families Overcoming Under Stress (FOCUS), FOCUS for Early Childhood (FOCUS-EC), and Strategies for Early Educational Developmental Success (SEEDS). She is certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities. Dr. Mogil received her doctorate from Pepperdine University and completed her clinical internship at UCLA. Dr. Mogil also completed a post-doctoral fellowship specializing in the prevention and treatment of child and family traumatic stress at USC/Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
Dr. Blanca Orellana, PhD, Associate Clinical Director
Dr. Orellana (she/her/hers) is a Supervising Psychologist at the Nathanson Family Resilience Center within the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. Dr. Orellana is a licensed clinical psychologist who received her doctorate degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Dr. Orellana completed a clinical internship in trauma psychology, treating developmentally disabled children and other at-risk populations. As a post-doctoral fellow at USC/UCEDD Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, she also received specialized training in the prevention and treatment of traumatic stress in children and families. Dr. Orellana has served on several projects focused on risk reduction and abuse prevention for at-risk youth and has additionally investigated best practices for treatment of this population.
