Jessica Jeffrey, MD, MPH, MBA, DFAACAP, DFAPA 

Associate Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs in Psychiatry

Dr. Jeffrey is the Co-Director of the Division of Population Behavioral Health and Associate Medical Director of Ambulatory Services within the UCLA Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences. Additionally, she is Lead Psychiatrist for UCLA Health’s Behavioral Health Associates integrated care program.

As an advocate for improved access to behavioral health services, Dr. Jeffrey created the Department of Psychiatry’s Specialty Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic and serves as its medical director. Additionally, she is the Director of the UCLA/Los Angeles Department of Mental Health Tele-Hub Program, where she oversees the delivery of pediatric integrated behavioral health services within the Antelope Valley and through STAND, a program of the UCLA Depression Grand Challenge, at East Los Angeles College. 

Dr. Jeffrey’s research and clinical interests include systems of health care delivery and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapies. She completed training in MDMA-assisted psychotherapy with MAPS (October 2022) and the Ketamine Medical Provider Training from the Integrative Psychiatry Institute (December 2021). She also received the Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy Certificate from Integrative Psychiatry Institute (December 2022). Dr. Jeffrey recently founded the Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy Clinic within the Department to offer this novel treatment to patients as an insurance-based service. 

As a medical educator, Dr. Jeffrey serves as the Associate Editor for the Child PRITE and on the editorial board for the PRITE. Additionally, she teaches and mentors the next generation of clinicians in trauma treatments within the UCLA Family Stress, Trauma, and Resilience (STAR) Clinic and in integrated care service delivery within the pediatric integrated program. 

Dr. Jeffrey has published articles in the fields of health services delivery and mental health, spanning topics including integrated behavioral healthcare, measurement-based care practices, psychedelic therapies, and quality of life.  

Dr. Jeffrey is a Distinguished Fellow of both the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. She serves on the Psychopharmacologic Drug Advisory Committee for the FDA. 

Marc Weintraub, PhD – Therapy Supervisor

Dr. Marc Weintraub is a clinical psychologist and an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences at UCLA. Dr. Weintraub received his Bachelor of Arts in psychology and social welfare at the University of California, Berkeley. He received his Doctorate in clinical psychology at the University of Miami and completed his clinical internship at the UCLA Semel Institute. He then conducted a postdoctoral fellowship in child and adolescent mood disorders at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior before joining the faculty. 

Dr. Weintraub has clinical expertise in the diagnostic assessment and psychosocial treatment of adolescents and adults with mood disorders, psychotic disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and autism spectrum disorders. Dr. Weintraub’s research focuses on the prognoses of mood and psychotic disorders as well as approaches to improve psychosocial treatments for these conditions (including psychedelic-assisted therapy and mHealth applications as adjuncts to therapy). Dr. Weintraub’s research is funded by numerous research grants, including funding from the National Institute of Mental Health, Brain and Behavior Research Foundation, American Psychological Foundation, and the Friends of Semel. He has authored and co-authored numerous published papers and book chapters and has presented at national and international scientific meetings. Dr. Weintraub is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and the recipient of several awards, including the American Psychological Association (APA) Dissertation Award, University of Miami Academic Excellence, Leadership & Service Award, and Rod Gillis Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching.

Hua Chai, MD, PhD

Dr. Chai is a board-certified adult psychiatrist and board-eligible in geriatric psychiatry. She earned her undergraduate degree from Amherst College before pursuing both her medical and graduate education at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Chai completed her psychiatry residency at UCLA’s Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, where she also went on to complete a fellowship in geriatric psychiatry. 

Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys listening to music and spending quality time with family and friends.

Melita Daley, MD

Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

Melita Daley, M.D. is a full-time faculty member and Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior and graduated from the UCLA child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship program in 2002. Dr. Daley has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents from high risk backgrounds, and worked for several years in an underserved area in California with children who had been placed in group homes, the foster care system, as well as Juvenile Hall. Dr. Daley presently works as a child and adolescent psychiatrist at the UCLA TIES for families program and the UCLA SPOC clinic. In addition, she teaches in the UCLA child psychiatry psychopharmacology clinic. Dr Daley has expertise in treating children and adolescents from ages 3-18 years old for a wide range of both developmental disabilities as well as other psychiatric disorders including ADHD, Mood disorders, Psychotic Disorders, and Anxiety Disorders. She has also been the recipient of a National Institute of Health Career Development award, two Narsad awards, as well as an Epilepsy Foundation of America award. Dr Daley was recognized as part of the Super Doctors of Southern California from 2019 to present. 

Trung (Jack) Duong, MD

Dr. Trung (Jack) Duong is a board-certified adult psychiatrist currently working at SPOC. Born in Vietnam, Dr. Duong moved to the Bay area when he turned 11. After spending some time there, he moved to Missouri where he attended St. Louis University and received his Bachelor’s in Biological Sciences with a Minor in Anthropology. Dr. Duong received his medical degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia and went on to complete his psychiatry residency training at the University of Arizona-Tucson. His current areas of expertise include Integrative Psychiatry, college mental health, LGBTQ+ and Asian American mental health. He is deeply passionate about the intersections of race, gender, and ethnicity as they relate to his work. In his free time, Dr. Duong loves to cook different Vietnamese dishes, explore new hiking trails in LA, and learn choreography to the newest K-Pop videos.”

Tatjana Josic D.O. FAPA

Dr. Josic is a board-certified child, adolescent and adult psychiatrist. She is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. Her clinical work focuses on prevention, assessment and treatment of mental health disorders in youth (6-17 yo) and adults. She emphasizes the importance of personalizing care through a multidimensional approach to treating psychiatric disorders. 

Dr. Josic completed psychiatry residency training in Loma Linda Medical Center and fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry at the University of Southern California. She also received additional training in substance use disorders through the Medical Education and Research Foundation for the Treatment of Addiction scholarship through the California Society of Addiction Medicine.

She serves as a West LA Councilor for the Southern California Psychiatric Society. Dr. Josic actively participates in American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.  

Blair Kim, MD
 

Dr. Blair Kim is a psychiatrist with a background in biochemistry from USC and a medical degree from Loma Linda School of Medicine. She completed her residency at the UCLA/VA program with a focus in Women’s Mental Health and is currently a Max Gray Fellow. Her interests include women’s mental health, community psychiatry, and psychodynamic psychotherapy.

Jennifer Manegold

Dr. Manegold is board-certified in general and child and adolescent psychiatry. She earned her medical degree from UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine. She completed her residency in psychiatry and fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at UCLA Semel Institute, where she served as program chief resident. She has completed additional training in women’s mental health through the National Curriculum in Reproductive Psychiatry. She specializes in psychiatric treatment for children and adolescents with a wide range of neurodevelopmental disabilities and mental health conditions and for women during reproductive transitions, including pregnancy and postpartum. She currently sees patients at UCLA TIES for Families and UCLA SPOC.

Charles McTavish, MD

I became a psychiatrist because I want to help people live their most fulfilled lives. I completed all of my academic training in New York City starting at NYU as a major in Applied Psychology for undergrad and continuing to Weill Cornell for medical school, Mt Sinai Beth Israel for Adult Psychiatry Residency, and the NYU Child Studies Center for my fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I currently hold a position as an attending psychiatrist at UCLA's Specialty Psychiatry Outpatient Clinic (SPOC) where I see both adolescent and adult patients. I am an LGBTQIA+ affirmative provider. Prior to entering medicine, I worked as a musician, a music therapist, a milieu counselor for young people in foster care, and as a teacher’s aide for children with special needs. I bring all of these experiences to my practice along with my medical training at some of the country's foremost academic medical centers. In my free time I enjoy cooking, skiing, and playing with my two chihuahua-mix dogs.

Ariel Bahner, LCSW

Ariel Bahner is a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in infant, early child, and family mental health. She has a passion for and extensive experience working with children and families, which supports and informs her work with individuals of all ages. Her foundation of lifespan development, attachment, family systems and trauma informed care allows her to tailor her clinical practice to meet the individual needs of each person she works with. Ariel graduated with honors from California State University of Northridge with a BA in Child and Adolescent Development and a minor in Psychology, followed by a Masters in Social Work. The last 10 years she has worked in community mental health and building her private practice. She continues to deepen her knowledge and clinical practice with a focus on trauma informed treatments that include Internal Family Systems, TF-CBT, and EMDR. Ariel is a certified EMDR therapist through both EMDRIA and the Parnell Institute, which specializes in the treatment of complex trauma. Her foundational work in early development fortifies her ability to support a diverse range of individuals with a variety of challenges, including PTSD, complex trauma, depression, anxiety, maternal mental health, autism, and ADHD. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with family and taking in the beauty of Southern California with frequent hikes and visits to the ocean to watch the sunset. 

Debbie Cervante, LCSW

Debbie Cervantes, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker with extensive experience working in hospitals and health care settings. Debbie has a Master of Social Work degree from New York University Silver School of Social Work and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. Debbie served for two and a half years as an outpatient therapist for Tarzana Treatment Center followed by five years of service at UCLA’s Partial Hospitalization Program, where she provided group therapy and individual therapy for patients with acute Mental Health issues. Debbie provides part-time support at Cancer Support Community of Los Angeles as a group facilitator for the weekly Spanish-speaking support groups for individuals living with cancer as well as monthly Spanish-speaking support groups for individuals Post-Treatment. Debbie is trained as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy ( CBT) therapist through the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. Additionally, Debbie has completed training in Dialectal Behavioral Therapy ( DBT), Interpersonal Therapy ( IPT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT).
