Resource List for Mental Health Crises

Find your care

Exceptional children's primary care is just a click away. Same-day and next-day appointments are available.

At UCLA Health, we know that families dealing with developmental and behavioral challenges may also face mental health crises. Children with developmental disabilities, including autism, have a higher risk of anxiety, depression and behavioral crises. It’s important for families to have quick access to mental health support in these situations.

Behavioral Crises and Safety Concerns

Children with developmental disabilities may have meltdowns that lead to self-harm or aggression toward others. These situations can be hard to handle without professional help. Some children may also struggle with anxiety, depression or thoughts of self-harm. If your child is showing these signs, getting urgent mental health care is critical.

UCLA Health Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics does not provide emergency mental health or psychiatric care. If your child is in crisis, please use the resources below. Once they are stable, our team can help with further developmental and behavioral assessments.
