Some of the events are open to the public, while others are highly specialized seminars designed to enhance the knowledge of trained physicians and surgeons. When available, the event description will conclude with a link to websites devoted especially to the specific event.

Community Presentation: Comprehensive Treatment of Obesity

About 25% of the Californians are obese. Obesity is a serious medical disease and it has surpassed tobacco as the number one cause of preventable death in this country. The UCLA Center of Obesity and METabolic Health (COMET) is organizing a community presentation at The Lundring Events Center to discuss the epidemics, medical, dietary and surgical management of obesity and its related morbidities. Five UCLA experts, including Zhaoping Li, MD, PhD, Lauren Maddahi, RD, Simon Beaven, MD, PhD, Erik P Dutson, MD, and Yijun Chen, MD, will discuss the latest treatment options and answer questions.
