Vascular Surgery Fellows
Jee Hoon Song, MD, PhD
PGY-7
Dr. Jee Hoon Song is a second-year fellow in the Vascular Program. Originally from Seoul, South Korea, Dr. Song immigrated to Los Angeles, California, where she attended high school. She earned her undergraduate degree from UCLA, majoring in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics (MIMG), and went on to pursue a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr. Song received her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and completed her General Surgery Residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center. While she has not yet focused on a specific area of vascular research, she is enthusiastic about exploring the full breadth of the field. Outside of medicine, Dr. Song enjoys spending time with family, visiting museums, and discovering new restaurants.
Samuel Paci, MD
PGY-6
Dr. Samuel Paci is a PGY-6 Vascular Surgery fellow originally from New York, NY. He earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from Brown University before spending a year in Panama working as a clinic manager for the medical non-profit Floating Doctors. He completed medical school at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and his residency at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell Health (NSUH/LIJ). Dr. Paci is passionate about all aspects of vascular surgery, with a particular interest in peripheral arterial disease and limb salvage. Outside of medicine, he is an avid sailor and holds a U.S. Coast Guard captain’s license. He notably sailed across the Indian Ocean at age 18 and aspires to sail around the rest of the world in the future.

JoAnna Shaw, MD
PGY-5
Dr. JoAnna Shaw attended New York University for her undergraduate studies, earning a degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Mathematics. She earned her doctorate at the Jacobs School of Medicine of the State University of New York at Buffalo. She was delighted to discover a passion for the field of vascular surgery and to develop strong relationships with many wonderful mentors. Dr. Shaw's interests include addressing health disparities in vascular surgery outcomes as well as vascular trauma surgery and intensive care.
Mitali Doshi, MD
PGY-4
Dr. Mitali Doshi is our new PGY-1 for the Vascular-Integrated Residency Program. She grew up in Anaheim, CA and attended UCLA where she majored in Physiological Science with a minor in Global Studies. Upon graduating, she attended University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, where she gained an interest in peripheral bypass outcomes and gender differences in vascular diseases and outcomes. During her time in medical school, she was also a part of many extracurricular activities that centered around mentorship, community service, and education. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, strength training, cooking, painting, and knitting.
Mokhshan Ramachandran
Research
Dr. Mokhshan Ramachandran joins our team as a PGY-1 in the Integrated Vascular Surgery Residency Program. Originally from Brussels, Belgium, Dr. Ramachandran pursued his undergraduate studies at UCLA, majoring in Psychobiology. Following his graduation, he served as a Firefighter and Recovery Diver in Wisconsin and Utah. Dr. Ramachandran later earned his medical degree from the UC San Diego School of Medicine, where he developed an immediate passion for vascular surgery. During his time there, he engaged in an NIH-funded research year, focusing on outcomes in lower-extremity arterial bypass surgery. His current clinical interests include vascular trauma, limb salvage and bioinformatics. In his free time, Dr. Ramachandran enjoys spending as much time outdoors as possible, taking impromptu trips to National Parks and frequenting jazz clubs around LA.
Armin Tabiei, MD
PGY-2
Dr. Armin Tabiei is a first-year resident in the Vascular Program. Originally from Gothenburg, Sweden, Dr. Tabiei attended medical school at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, where he co-founded the Karolinska Institute Vascular Surgery Interest Group and played on the university football team. Following graduation, he completed the Edward S. (Ted) Rogers Research Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, with a focus on outcomes of fenestrated and branched endovascular aortic repair. His vascular interests continue to evolve with a strong foundation in complex aortic interventions. Outside of medicine, Dr. Tabiei enjoys spending time at the beach, cooking pasta, exploring Los Angeles’s vibrant food scene, and playing tennis and basketball.
Elizabeth Raby, MD
PGY-1
Dr. Elizabeth Raby was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She attended the University of New Mexico for undergrad, where she majored in Biochemistry and Spanish. She then completed her medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco. Elizabeth’s interests include surgical outcomes, quality improvement, and the care of vulnerable patient populations. Elizabeth also has a longstanding passion for mentorship and medical education. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys running, cycling, spending time at the beach, and traveling!
