Welcome to the UCLA Department of Head and Neck Surgery

Welcome to the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at UCLA. Our department is built upon a strong legacy of compassionate, patient-centered care and a tradition of excellence that spans decades.

I received my MD and completed both my residency in Otolaryngology and fellowship in Laryngology here at UCLA. It has been my privilege to remain at this institution—as a faculty member and now as Interim Chair—continuing to serve the community that trained me.

As a pioneer in the field, our department’s vision is to passionately and relentlessly lead, innovate, and inspire excellence in patient care through education, research, and global community service.

We have assembled an extraordinary team of surgeons, scientists, and healthcare professionals who share this commitment. Our department provides world-class expertise in:
•    Head and neck cancer
•    Laryngology and voice disorders
•    Rhinology and skull base surgery
•    Aesthetic and reconstructive surgery
•    Otology and neurotology
•    Thyroid and parathyroid surgery
•    Tracheal and airway surgery
•    Salivary gland disease
•    Pediatric otolaryngology

In addition, we have developed specialized programs in voice and swallowing disorders, nutrition, active cancer surveillance, and survivorship. Our mission is rooted in multidisciplinary, patient-centered care, supported by an infrastructure designed to ensure safety, compassion, and individualized attention for every patient.
