Why UCLA: There is not one particular reason why I chose UCLA, but perhaps the most notable are being in Southern California, a smaller program in which I would get individualized attention and training in contrast to a larger program, and the friendly faculty here.

Dr. Marc Camilon is a man of many skills and hobbies including musician, photographer, mechanic, and racecar driver. He is the proud father of two young children and when asked, "What's your favorite thing to do in the world?" It would be spending time with my adventurous toddler, infant, and lovely wife.

Why I Chose UCLA: There are many reasons as to why I chose to pursue fellowship at UCLA. Some things that initially caught my attention were the institution's advanced case variety and patient complexity, its strong reputation within the US and abroad, and the program's small class size. I left my interview with this program feeling that through it I would be able to expand my clinical skills and academic portfolio under the guidance of friendly, supportive faculty, and this has absolutely been the case since starting. Lifestyle also played a role in my decision, and the forgiving clinical hours, generous benefits, and California sunshine have left me without regret towards my choice to come to UCLA.

Dr. Scales enjoys cycling, hiking, and exploring the wide selection of amazing food in LA.
