About

Dr. Wilson Ricketts is a palliative care physician who works in Westwood and Santa Monica. He sees patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Dr. Ricketts' outpatient clinic is embedded within UCLA's Radiation Oncology department where, in addition to seeing general palliative care referrals, he works closely with his colleagues in Radiation Oncology to care for patients receiving radiation therapy. 

Dr. Ricketts attended medical school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Marnix E. Heersink School of Medicine. During medical school he also studied at Duke University as a theology, medicine, and culture fellow and earned a certificate in theology and healthcare from Duke Divinity School. Dr. Ricketts completed residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at UCLA and subsequently completed fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, also at UCLA. 

His academic interests include bioethics, film and narrative medicine, and global health. Outside of work, Dr. Ricketts enjoys hiking, seeing a good movie, cooking with his wife, and spending quality time with his cat and a good book.

Dr. Ricketts is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
