About
Dr. Valerie Wong is a board-certified geriatrician who cares for patients in several Santa Monica nursing homes. Her care is focused on comprehensive evaluations and transitions of care with an emphasis on what matters most to the patient and their families or support systems. She also supervises geriatric medicine fellows in the nursing homes as well as in their continuity clinic experience.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Wong is a core faculty member for the UCLA Geriatric Fellowship Program and Associate Program Director. She co-directs the quality improvement and patient safety curriculum. She is an assistant professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.
Dr. Wong received her medical degree from Stony Brook School of Medicine in New York, where she was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She then completed her Internal Medicine residency at UC Davis, where she completed additional training in quality improvement, medical education and primary care. She completed her training at UCLA for her geriatric medicine fellowship. She earlier earned her bachelor's degree from Brown University with a concentration in Neuroscience.
