About

Dr. Timothy A. Schaub is a board-certified plastic and general surgeon with subspecialty certification in hand surgery. He now leads the Hand and Microsurgery Center at Luskin Orthopaedic Institute for Children. Previously, he served as Director of the Hand and Microsurgery Program and the Complex Wound Program at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where he helped establish Arizona’s highest-volume center for pediatric limb salvage and microsurgical reconstruction, and developed a regional referral hub for complex conditions like arthrogryposis.

A dedicated educator and academic leader, Dr. Schaub holds faculty appointments at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and Creighton University Medical School. He is a site director for multiple fellowship and residency rotations and serves as an oral board examiner for the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Nationally, he contributes to several surgical committees focused on pediatric vascular injuries and quality improvement in plastic surgery.

Dr. Schaub has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and frequently presents his work at national and international conferences. Recent publications include studies on pediatric orthoplastic surgery, open hand fractures in children, and keystone flaps for meningomyelocele reconstruction. He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois and completed advanced training in surgery and microsurgery at the University of Michigan and UT Southwestern. He also holds an executive MBA in healthcare from Arizona State University. His global outreach includes surgical missions to Haiti and Belize
