Dr. Surina Kajani is a board-certified, primary care physician practicing at UCLA Health in Porter Ranch. She believes the key to a successful doctor patient relationship is through patient empowerment and education. She prides herself on exhibiting compassion, empathy, and understanding, all while providing the most up to date, evidence-based medicine.
Dr. Kajani started her education at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) where she was selected to be part of an accelerated BS/MS program, receiving both an undergraduate (BS) and masters (MS) degree in Biology in 4 years. She followed her passion for medicine and obtained her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and then completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Adventist Health-White Memorial, an affiliate of Loma Linda School of Medicine.
When she is not in the office, Dr. Kajani loves spending time with her family, teaching medical students from David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, cooking, hiking and dancing.
She is fluent in Spanish, Hindi, and Urdu.

She impressed me as being knowledgeable both about the medical issues I described that I face, and about specialists at UCLA who she recommends for me. This was an absolutely wonderful experience. It's nice to feel heard at a doctor and to have one that cares enough to truly dive into all aspects of your health to figure out how to manage your care to the best of your benefit. Too many doctors see a medically complex person and walk away or stay and neglect them, because they are too much work. This was the exact opposite experience and one that makes it worth every minute of the 2-3 hour drive.
