Steven M. Shaw, LMFT

Steven Shaw is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at UCLA Behavioral Health Associates. He received his Master’s degree of Science in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Forensic Psychology from Capella University. He had also received a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Brandman University. Throughout his career he has worked with children, teens and adults across the lifespan within community mental health, hospital and private practice settings.

His specialties include anxiety disorders, depression, grief, life transitions, relationship challenges and post traumatic stress disorder. He has been trained in evidence-based treatment utilizing modalities from cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma focused-cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy and brief psychodynamic psychotherapy. Steven’s therapeutic style is to assist patients with building healthy coping skills, mindfulness based interventions and increasing awareness of thoughts and feelings to help facilitate healing and build resilience.
