About

Dr. Soomin Jung is a primary care physician seeing patients at Santa Clarita Tourney Road Primary & Specialty Care. She is board-certified in family medicine and a diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Jung is trained to care for patients of all ages and backgrounds, including but not limited to newborns, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and the elderly.

Dr. Jung received her medical degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. She completed the majority of her clinical rotations throughout Kern County and her residency at the California Hospital Medical Center/Morehouse School of Medicine in Downtown Los Angeles. Born in Korea, Dr. Jung relocated to the United States as an adolescent, receiving her double major undergraduate degrees at the University of California, Berkeley.

As a family medicine doctor, Dr. Jung believes in healthcare centered around patient-doctor relationships and making clinical decisions as a team. She values continuity of care that encompasses honesty, compassion, integrity, equity, and a hint of human touch. Dr. Jung also believes in teaching the next generation of learners, just as her teachers/mentors have invested in her life and learning.

Dr. Jung strives for a healthy work-life balance, finding joy and healing by spending quality time with her family, friends, and church community. She practices finding beauty in the simple things of life by appreciating the sunrise and listening to birds chirping while enjoying her morning coffee. Dr. Jung enjoys listening to music, exercising (Zumba, Yoga, Pilates), and watching soccer.

Dr. Jung takes her time with each patient. She spent time answering my questions and addressing my concerns. I enjoyed my appointment and Dr. Jung educated me on what I need to do as I approach 60 years of age.
