About
Dr. Sonya Heitmann completed her internal medicine residency at the University of California, Davis and later became a board-certified obesity medicine specialist. She enjoys teaching and was a clinical assistant professor for Drexel University prior to joining UCLA Health. She is currently an associate professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Her areas of interest include diabetes and obesity medicine. She works closely with patients to help achieve their weight loss goals through the UCLA Health medically-supervised weight loss program PRO - Program for Reducing Obesity. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children.
