Shirley Y. Chang, DO

Dr. Shirley Chang is a UCLA Health primary care physician who is serving patients throughout the Santa Barbara area. Dr. Chang is dual certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine as well as Family Medicine and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. She strives to treat patients through a comprehensive and evidence based approach and emphasizes health promotion and preventative health. Dr. Chang attended Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school. There, she was selected as one of the Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Scholars, a role in which she taught fellow medical students and advanced research. She then went on to receive her residency training at Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria, CA, where she devoted extra time in the Integrative Medicine in Residency and Osteopathic Recognition tracks, and completed residency in June 2024.

Dr. Chang grew up in Southern California, and is a proud UCLA alumna. She is happy to return to the Bruins family and be close to her own family members in Santa Barbara. During her free time, she loves to explore the outdoors, try new recipes, and spend quality time with her family. She also enjoys running and is training for her next race. She would love to pick up a new sport and welcomes any suggestions!
