Dr. Lin's practice is focused on precision cornea, cataract and refractive surgery, with a particular emphasis on cataract surgery, having performed more than 6,000 successful cataract procedures. His expertise includes:

Dr. Lin is the recipient of the Heed Fellowship and the Abelson Fellowship. He has authored more than a dozen peer reviewed publications in leading ophthalmology journals, including the American Journal of Ophthalmology and the British Journal of Ophthalmology. He has written textbook chapters for the classic Practice of Ophthalmology textbook and the subspecialty Cornea textbook, and has delivered keynote presentations at national and international ophthalmology meetings.

He serves on the American Academy of Ophthalmology Preferred Practice Pattern (PPP) committee, helping to develop national guidelines for cataract surgery and ensure evidence-based standards of care.

His research focuses on improving cataract surgery outcomes through the integration of human expertise and artificial intelligence, with a particular emphasis on optimizing the patient experience. He has pioneered work in improving cataract surgery outcomes, improving neuroadaptation after cataract surgery, and developing evidence-based approaches to reduce patient anxiety throughout the surgical journey. His work bridges surgical precision with neuroscience-informed care to support faster recovery, better visual outcomes, and a more comfortable patient experience. 

Education:
He is a leader in ophthalmology education, founding EyeGuru, an educational platform visited more than 1,600,000 times a year by other ophthalmologists from over 125 countries around the world. In this teaching role, Dr. Lin helps to advance knowledge in ophthalmology and train the next generation of ophthalmologists.
